I'm curious if the extra money over a standard room at AKL is worth it. I'm certain it is --- if you see great animals. What are the chances that the view from our Savannah room will be animal-less? Thanks!
The chance that your stay will be animal-less, is if you are only available to watch the animals when they are taken in for their afternoon checkup. Other than that, you should have animals..even in the middle of the night. It is amazing!
I found it so relaxing to sit on our patio and watch the animals. We were all the way at the end of the kudu trail (quite a hike from the lobby!) and even down there we saw animals all of the time.
We only paid a short visit to AKL for dinner and a walk about. We watched animals from the look out near the pool, I saw giraffe and those reindeer looking critters. I was wondering what other animals are there? S
There are zebras, exotic cattle and many different "deer" type creatures. Many different bird species too. Each savanna has different animals so be sure to request those animals you prefer to see.
We stayed in room 4435 Arusha savanna, Zebra Trail. I highly recommend this area! 3435 might be a little better, but we had a wonderful view and were close to a bank of elevators that went down to the pool and Simba's Cubhouse. If you want Zebra Trail I would recommend somewhere between rooms X431 and X437 or possibly X501 to X507 with X being the floor number. This is a very convenient location with great views. I can only actually vouch for 4435 but I can assume that the adjacent rooms are just as good unless there is an architectural blockage that I don't know about.
