Have you met or know anyone famous?

I've met a few celebs over the years. The uni I went to was used as a location for a Touch of Frost so we used to see David Jason around campus. Also when I was younger the orchestra I played in did some TV shows which were recorded in the studio next to where count down was filmed so we would be having lunch next to Carol Vorderman and Richard Whitely. I used to work at a motorway service station too on the M1 so we used to have celebs pop in quite frequently. My favourite was when the cast of Shooting Stars came in and we didn't have any bean burgers left so Vic and Bob made up a sketch about me and my friend in front of our counter!! I also had a lovely chat with Victoria Wood one evening. On my GCSE geography field study I bumped into Jack Charlton and interviewed him for my course work he was a really nice bloke.
My favourite celeb encounter though was on my wedding day when I bumped into Robbie Williams in the hotel we were having our reception in (he was performing in the V vestival the next day near where we were.) I was in my wedding dress walking along the coridoor and he said congratulations to me.

Let's see. I never know who half these people are, but I have met some folks when I really think about it...

Evelyn Glennie - probably the best solo classical percussionist in the world - she was really nice and always smiling. She was on our National Youth Orchestra of Scotland UK tour.
Christian Lindberg - when I was playing in Camerata Scotland - he seemed a bit arrogant, but he is I believe the most well known solo trombonist in the world.
Midori - the Japanese-American violinist who is my favourite violinist (from a "sound" point of view) - I met her after a concert in Glasgow, and she signed my CD, but she seemed quite rushed and didn't have much to say, and she'd obviously taken her contacts out and her glasses were sooooo strong, made her look geekish.
I've seen Magnus Magnusson in a car park, he kind of smiled over.
I've nearly walked straight into Shereen Nanjiani who is a well-known Scottish TV news anchor (we "danced" to avoid each other!).
My friend is good friends with Good Charlotte and hangs out with them, and a member of New Found Glory. - In fact, I've spoken online with Chad Gilbert from NFG.
I've met Prince Edward after an orchestra concert... no comment.
oh and me.... i was in the McFly movie "just my luck"... well, kinda... i was on the top balcony while they were rocking out on the stage. My debut on the silverscreen! hahah

Hey i am famous!!! :rotfl2: My great aunt is Emily Pankhurst who hung herself for womens rights! Does that count!? ;) If not i was staying in the Disney Land Paris Hotel two years ago and met Katie Price aka Jordan and Peter Andre, we sat down with them for a few drinks and they were actually lovely people. My son who was 6 at the time was not very impressed though! He said she was 'minging' and her hair was 'gross'! Needless to say we didnt see them again!

Met Richard Branson at his garden party 2 years ago, and kept bumping into Roland Rivron and his family at the same event. (he caught me taking his pic a few times  )

Have recently met Anthony Wilson (Hacienda Club, sometime Granada TV presenter) through work.. charming bloke. Past clients at work include John Bowe (formerly Duggie in Corrie) and John Tovey (80s TV chef) and, some years before Emmerdale, actor Steve Halliwell (Zak Dingle).

My GF's best mate is Russell Watson's sister and I also know his dad well now.

Had stage passes for the latest Bon Jovi concert and shook hands with JBJ and Richi Sambora.

Working in property 'up north' we regularly get Corrie and other soap stars in the office and area, but as I don't watch telly I never know who they are! :confused3 :teeth:

a few include: ray liotta, kevin spacey, juliette lewis, christian slater, priscilla presley and david schwimmer.

all i need now is to meet lisa marie presley then i am all set! :cool1: :thumbsup2

I have met the following famous people:

Dr. Mae Jemison (Astronaut)

King Hussein and Queen Noor of Jordan
Diana, Princess of Wales
President Nelson Mandela (SA)
President Thabo Mbeki (SA)

Lots of other, mainly U.S. Politicians and television news personalities... all sort of a normal thing for me, working in law enforcement in Washingron, DC.

That's quite a list you've got there Bill.

There are some very impressive lists there!

Apart from Mickey Mouse and Co I've met....no-one famous lol

Walked past Pat from Eastenders

Had 'an audience' with the Pope in 1984.....he was very close as he walked past!

Gary Linekar went to my school - before I was there.
Emile Heskey went to my school - after I was there!

DH had a really good natter with Vanessa Feltz at the airport when he dropped his mum off there. It was in the days when she used to present a show on Talk Radio on a Sunday. He came home absolutely gushing about her and said she was wonderful.

Just remembered - I've played rugby against Dean Richards :)

Have also seen him in our local ASDA.

Andy, who came 2nd in Xfactor lives at the top of my road. Does he count as a celeb? Seen quite a few of the other finalists visiting him, including Sharon Osbourne while the show was still running.

I forgot to add that Craig from the last Big Brother lives in the same road as me.

David

wow, Kilted Yank, you have met loads of REALLY famous people. I think Princess Diana is the most amazing one you've met. Can you tell us more about that please?

Just thought of another one! I used to work in a building society in Leicester between 2000 & 2003. The Haymarket Theatre was just round the corner from us and an actor who used to be in Home & Away (can't remember his name!) came to my counter wanting to cash a cheque which I couldn't do. Needless to say, he wasn't a happy chappy!

He then appeared at my counter about a year later wanting to do the same thing --- still couldn't do it for hime though!

Would be a much better story if I could remember his name :confused3

Last october when we went to New York we saw Jack Osborne in the airport. He happily posed with my daughter and allowed us to take some snaps.
Coming back from Florida a few years ago we were on the same flight as Adam Woodyatt (ian Beale).
