My DD and I head to Disney this coming Saturday. We have our ADR's all made. We have now added her BF to join us and have managed to get him added to two of our four table service meals. She keeps calling Disney Dining to see if we can get him a seat at 1900 Park Faire for breakfast on the 24th. When she called this morning the CM told her that there were openings on the morning she was calling about, but the CM said she did not need to make a change to our ADR-all we had to do was show up at the restaurant with 3 people instead of our confirmed 2 and they would seat our 3rd member.
Have any of you dealt with this? Is there a CM reading on the board who may know?

That CM should have not told you that. Officially the restaurant is within their power to turn away your additional party member. However it has been widely reported that they will go ahead and seat your whole party. So go with everyone and most likely you will all be seated.

Not a smart CM by any means. If the only table left is a small 2 seater then yes they will either turn you away or make you wait until a larger table is available that someone did not show up to

Never heard a CM tell you that. I would have gotton his/ her name & the day & time I calles, and told them when I show up at the resturant that that is what I was told if they give you a problem.

Not 1900PF, but in January we had a dinner reservation at CP. Some relatives that live nearby decided to join us for the day and we checked at the podium first thing in the morning to see if adding 2 was a problem, and it wasn't. I don't know if it was because we had an early reservation or what, but I'd check in person the night before just to clarify.

I don't think there is an "offical" policy about seating or not seating an extra guest. I think it is far more likely that the policy is to accomidate the guest as much as possible. It is very possible that your party of three can and will be seated even with an ADR for two. However, occationally circumstances will prevent the restaurant from being able to seat you.

We had an adr for 1900 parke fair for 2 one trip and our young niece was able to join us after I'd made the ADRs. Parke Fair was the one ADR I couldn't change. It was for our last night and I tried to entire trip to change to a 3 adr with no luck. The night before we stopped by the restaurant to cancel because I knew I'd never be able to take her to a buffet by herself. The manager over heard me canceling and asked me why. When I explained he said for all three of us to come and say we were three instead of two. He assured me it would be no problem and it wasn't

If there were openings for a three instead of the two, the castmember should have made that change for you.....sounds like one of two things.. there were not openings or it was too much work for her..

I would call back and attempt to change it and if not available, I would show up with the information you were given from the castmember at dining, which was wrong.....if it was available, she should have changed the reservations.

We're kind of in the same boat for our trip this week. I'm calling several times a day to try and add another person to several ADRs that were made before we knew DMIL was coming with us. I've been able to change some (due to others being cancelled for me and having to make all new reservations) but others I have not been able to. I've personally contacted those restraunts to see if there was any possible way they could change anything on their end. I was told at every one that it would not be a problem bringing an additional person.

We leave on Wednesday, so I'll let you know when we get back.

Since this is the post from a CM at Disney, and one who has been 100% accurate and truthful in their postings I would believe this as the 'official' word.
