Have you heard of Craigslist 'Missed Connections?'

My friend was telling me about it a week ago. Basically if you see a cute guy/girl somewhere, you can post on there and say "Cute guy at the Metro Center metro stop" and then describe your encounter. It does require the other person to read the site obviously but I think it's a pretty good idea.

Yeah I have no idea...when I was joining a gym after I moved recently, the guy told me that some lady posted one about him. The two of them have been chatting since. I feel like we're going to have Dr. Phil commercials soon.

I find it totally fascinating to read. I used to love to read them in the paper back in the day as well.

Of course, some of them are pretty creepy or downright dirty, but hey, what isn't on CL?

I've seen some great ones...there was one where someone saw someone at my college's graduation...it was classic...."You're really cute, but you were with your parents so I didn't want to say anything..."
I als knew a blogger who put himself up as a missed connection just to see how many of his friends would let him know it was him.
Maybe you should let NYC DISers know what a Tim missed connection looks like.

There was one I read recently about a guy and the wife living apart while he figures out his attraction to men. He then commented about how he is in love with some guy (never said how he knows him or anything). It's a great read while I have my morning coffee.
