24 hours post shot 2 and only thing is a very painful arm. With the first shot I was exhausted and nauseous within a couple hours!

The only bad thing about this dose is I must return to my office at least 2 days a week once I hit 14 days post shot. I am so not ready. We also have no idea about people who won’t get the vaccine. I am not comfortable being in our very open office with all those breathing particles in the air.

I don’t understand the fear of getting covid after vaccination. When the risk of a bad side effect from J&J or AZ vaccine was said to be “1 in a million”, people were still pushing others to get vaccinated and multiple media outlets were saying it was a bad move to pause the vaccine. Well so far, covid post-vaccination is rare and death from covid post-vaccination is so far LESS than “1 in a million” (and likely with extenuating circumstances) so why the fear?

I get what the other person may be getting at. If you have less people vaccinated there's more opportunity for the virus to spread. The more opportunities for even a vaccinated person to contract covid. The protection works the best when a high percentage of people are vaccinated and we're all in different areas. That's why it's frustrating when people quote how many people are vaccinated in the U.S. because on the one hand that's great to know on the other hand as for as a personal personal protection it doesn't mean their area has a high percentage of vaccinated persons.

That said as far as a workplace goes they likely won't be privy to who is vaccinated or not by the company so it will be just like it's been for all the workers out there who have had to work without know who had covid and who didn't. But they can wear a mask, keep as much distance as possible from other workers, avoid breakrooms and the like if that will make them feel more comfortable.

There were reports back in January/February of people traveling to FL, even from other countries, to get their vaccines. As there wasn't anything saying 'residents only' at that time, just 65+. There were some people who did this, but it wasn't thousands. Some 'snowbirds' from other states DID come in, when they couldn't get a spot in their current resident state. It did cause a problem with the online sites and with full time Floridians not being able to get a spot for their own vaccinations.

In my county, they no longer have a set site setup for the health department to do vaccinations. They are doing pop up sites around the county, to try to get people who might not have been able to drive to the hd site to get one. So, if you're in NoFL and need your vaccine....

I had my 2nd shot (Pfizer) on Tuesday. Yesterday was nausea, all over aches and pains, headache (severe) and very thirsty. This morning, no nausea, some upper neck/back pain (but that's from sleeping wrong, I think, as my muscles are very tight) and a bad headache (which could be related to the neck tightness. Other than that, I feel fine.

The state of Florida says residents only.

I got my second vaccine 4 hours ago, and no side effects yet. We will see what happens when I wake up tomorrow.

Florida did NOT offer vaccine to visitors, in fact we did the opposite.

Pretty early in the vaccination cycle, Florida medical facilities noticed people from out of state coming to Florida specifically to get vaccinated. They were even coming to cities that were virtually locked-down. Very quickly -- while we were still in the 75+ only vaccinations -- Florida instituted the policy that you had to show proof of either residency or long-term visitation.

We have many thousands of people who spend the entire winter in Florida, including thousands from Canada. Those folks are eligible for vaccination, but they have to show a utility bill, proof of property ownership, or similar evidence of long-term residency.

What you wrote Jim, is exactly what I meant in my original post. That it was offered to Canadians who go down there, with a residency qualification. So unsure about your NOT in capital letters.

We seem to be living the same existence right now. Curious...what time did you get your second shot yesterday?

I did the shot at about 3:00 PM on Monday... Woke up dumb(er) Tuesday. It took me half the day to ever start to think clearly. Yesterday morning (Thursday) when I woke up my knees were killing me (as bad as Tuesday). It didn't take too long for that to go away thankfully. This morning (Friday), I am not really noticing anything going on at all. I am guessing (hoping) it is all over with now.

Update: started to feel really cold about 2 pm yesterday. By the time I was done with work I had full on chills and was exhausted. Bundled up and fell asleep for about an hour. Had horrible wracking chills until about 8 pm. Went to bed at 9 and woke up feeling so hot. I was too exhausted to get a thermometer but pretty sure I had a slight fever because my skin was on fire and I had to turn on the fan. Woke up today feeling blah and a bit nauseous.

Had my second (Moderna) on Wednesday. Some soreness at the injection site and a “normal-strength” headache plus kind of tired yesterday - but I can’t say positively that it was the whole reason. (I was also out in the pollen yesterday, and it was at a memorial service, so emotionally tiring as well.)

I feel OK today. For anyone coming up on their second - a friend told me to drink lots of Gatorade the day of, and take Tylenol the next day. (I had a little more Gatorade as well.) Maybe that worked?

Well, we have neighbors (here in MA) that went down to St. Pete's for a short vacation and got vaccinated while they were there. That was at the beginning of the vaccine opportunities. They were in no possible way residents, and they told all their friends how to do the same thing.

Got my second Pfizer shot wed at 1130am, was fine until 11pm .. woke up and couldn't fall back to sleep.. had chills, sweats, low fever, body aches, no appetite. Fever didn't break until 430pm yesterday.. and finally felt like eating.. still feel weak today., but better.

I have Pfizer #2 coming up this afternoon. Started drinking Gatorade yesterday. I am super nervous about side effects but it’s going to be what it is I suppose. Younger DD says she will be on standby to make me Ramen if I feel bad.

I did this for my first shot. Drank one 32oz the day of before I got the shot and another one that day after the shot I also drank one the next day. I plan to do the same for dose two adding one or two the day before. I’ve also heard antihistamines can help so I plan to take one right after the second dose. I do NOT want the misery some here have described.

Got my second Pfizer yesterday. So far, my arm is more sore than the first time and I feel more tired than usual and somewhat foggy, almost like a buzz but without the giddiness. Hoping this is it but will report back if there are new developments.

Had my second dose of Pfizer earlier this week. No side effects from either the first or second shot, other than mild soreness at the injection site for about 24-48 hours. Guess I should consider myself lucky.
