Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

I got my 2nd today... they said since I had tested positive back on like April 2 that I could expect worse side effects but not to panic. So far I have not noticed anything. Maybe it's too soon, I dunno.

Well yea, it was a bit too soon to say. I don't know if it's happened to anybody else but this morning I woke up and was like less intelligent for a while. Hard to describe, I was typing stupid things, and my memory was shot. In fact I put in a ticket to IT about something that I have literally done thousands of times, only for them to respond back telling me I was just doing it wrong and nothing was wrong with the computer. My head finally cleared up about the middle of the day. That just ushered in some new side effects. I have a lot of body aches, intermittent headache, chills so much I thought my teeth were going to chatter, and a temp of 99.9. I took some ibuprofen while ago and I feel a little better now but still nowhere near 100%.

I call it the head fog. I had it for a few hours about 5 hours after my 2nd dose. I was in a zoom meeting and literally can’t tell you what an entire hour of it was about despite being absolutely sure I was listening😳

How about some states or countries offering a COVID-19 vaccine to visitors willing to visit, and a second dose if they stay long enough. In the Maldives it may not be the same vaccines approved in the US. They've received vaccines from China, India, and WHO which may not be as effective.

"We recognize that when individuals come up to Alaska, they may not stay for 21 days or 28 days… but we're offering that first dose," Hedberg said, adding if visitors do choose to stay longer, they can receive the second dose at any site in the state. "Anyone that is traveling in or through Alaska will be able to get vaccinated if they choose."
To date, around 53% of the island nation’s approximately 530,000 residents have received their first dose, according to Reuters’ vaccination tracker. Some 90% of front-line tourism staff have received their first dose, said Mausoom.
Mausoom did not state whether arrivals would be expected to pay for their shots, but he said that supply would not be an issue.
He said the country has received vaccine donations from India, China, and the World Health Organization’s Covax scheme, which aims to ensure that vaccines are fairly and equitably distributed. Maldives has also ordered additional supplies from Singapore, he said.

Got my second Moderna shot a few hours ago. Slight headache so far, but that’s it. Hoping I don’t have too many side effects.

Well, above was at the three hour mark post second Moderna shot. But 5 hours the headache got worse and I began to feel achy in my neck, bothe shoulders and arms. Didn‘t take anything and went to bed. Woke up at 3am with a 99.8 low grade fever. Took two Advil, went back to bed but couldn’t sleep. I’m on the edge of queasiness... definitely not hungry.

I can say this morning that I feel SOME improvement. I have a dull headache, but the aching has left the top half of my body and the only aching now I have is limited to the lower half, and it's not quite as bad. I guess it's a step in the right direction.

We seem to be living the same existence right now. Curious...what time did you get your second shot yesterday?

I felt queasy the morning following my second Moderna shot. Definitely not hungry. But I made myself choke down some crackers and it helped quite a bit. My husband was queasy and wouldn't eat anything at all and it just got worse. Always risky because you don't know if it will do the opposite, but for me it helped a lot.

Good call...I'm having tea now and will make myself eat some dry toast. I appreciate this thread....it was helpful reading other's reactions and knowing that it's all normal. It's one thing to read about it in articles, but seeing that others here also felt like crap...made me feel better....lol. Misery loves company I suppose. ;).

If solids are too much, my spouse and I got through the no appetite period with miso broth (to keep salt up, since our hot teas with raw honey were keeping our sugars up...and no way was I stomaching gatorade:))...sipping any broth would probably help the same...

1st Moderna: Sore arm.
2nd Moderna: Sore arm first night. Felt spacey and headachy the next morning until lunchtime. At 27 hours post shot, got hit by the fatigue truck and went to bed with a low fever of 99.2. Got up to chills and a fever of 99.8 around 7pm. Oddly, was really hungry. Ate some oatmeal and went back to bed. Woke up around midnight, fever down to 99.4. Somewhere around 2AM, woke up cool and sweaty, no fever, no chills and no arm soreness. It all just vanished. Weird.

The next afternoon my legs felt heavy and tired, like they did in my marathon running days. I had to sit down a lot. But that, too, vanished within a few hours.

Now, though, starting yesterday (which is four days post shot), it's like I have a tennis ball lodged under my armpit. The lymph node is swollen and sore and it hurts to even put on deodorant.

Good idea....Can do that....have miso here. It really isn't that bad for those coming up on first or second shots. I've had the flu only once in my life, in December of 2010, and it was *way* worse. Much higher fever....and just overall awful. My fever was probably higher last night...maybe up to 100.5-ish....took me awhile to get up to get thermometer. But took advil this morning and I'm down to 99.2.

I took my sister's advice and made sure I had a very light work today the day after....couldn't completely take it off. That's good advice for those who can do it.

I had Pfizer #2 Monday morning at 0930. I did not feel anything when shot #1 was happening and then just very lethargic/malaise next day. This time around my arm was stinging when the shot was happening. And I have "covid arm" now with big red swollen area on my arm. Tuesday was rough and felt like I was trying to diffuse a bomb underwater while trying to sing the alphabet. (how's that for a graphic) between moving slow and brain fog and just feeling crummy. I feel less brain fog today but my arm and shoulder up my neck and down into my armpit is super sore. I am teaching a 3 hour class in person tomorrow so I have to get it together.

Had 2nd Moderna shot yesterday at 4:00 p.m. & wow, it's kinda kickin' my butt :(. Up all night with body aches & nausea and horrible chills. At work now trying to finish "mission critical" stuff & head back home to hopefully sleep.
I hope you feel better soon.
