Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

My husband is next to me on the couch, under blankets, feeling like crud from his second Pfizer vaccine yesterday. His symptoms started about 30 hours after getting it — low fever, achy, spacey, general malaise, and a sore arm. He didn’t have any symptoms after his first dose. This thread reminded me that Tylenol might help, so I just gave him some and hopefully that will kick in soon.

Georgia expanded eligibility to everyone two days ago. I registered right away and received notice today that I could schedule an appointment, so I made one for this upcoming Wednesday. I’m going to one of the state-run mass vaccination sites and every appointment time was available throughout the day. My husband went to one of the mass vaccination sites as well and said it was extremely efficient. You stay in your car the whole time. Pull up, show them your QR code and ID, get jabbed in the arm, then go to a parking area where military personnel roam around the cars monitoring for reactions. Drive away after 15 minutes.

I was expecting to not be able to get the vaccine until June-ish, so I’m very excited to be getting it this quickly!

Oh hell - and here I came to say we are both 18 hours post second Pfizer and feeling fine, aside from sore arms. Well I'll keep my fingers crossed for us, and hope your husband is feeling better soon!

Thought I escaped side effects after 2nd Pfizer vaccine but woke up with painful arm and swollen lymph node in armpit yesterday, felt much better this morning.

My sister & BIL managed to get their first vaccine today. My sister is a teacher & BIL an essential worker and the local site opened it up to their catagory today.

I didn't experience any issues with the Pfizer dose #1, but about 24 hours after dose #2, I experienced severe fatigue and body aches. I went to bed and felt much better the next day (yesterday). The body aches were gone, just mild fatigue remained. I ran 8 miles this morning and the fatigue was still a slight problem, but I was able to work through it.

FINALLY! I was finally able to get DW an appointment for her shots. We're taking DD back to UCF in Orlando Tuesday after a brief B-Day visit home, and I was able to get appointments in Orlando! Actually very convenient for the first shot, and we can make the second shot work if we have to drive back up for it.

So now, everybody will be vaccinated except DD 18, and we'll start stalking hers on April 5th.

25 hours post second Pfizer shot. Starting to get upset stomach and achy shoulders, stomach really bothering me actually.

If you're up for it, have some ginger tea with (raw) honey (you can make green or black tea and add a sprinkle of powdered ginger or some fresh ginger). If you're not, have a glass of ice water. Both should help settle the stomach effects a little, and if they don't, they'll still help recovery by keeping you hydrated...

Thanks!
I’m actually a habitual water drinker so I’ve already had a lot and I’m currently nursing some watered down Gatorade...unfortunately for me two things I greatly dislike the taste of is green tea and honey, so I’ll be skipping those!
Hopefully it passes-

I will be eligible April 1. Eligible. Doesn't mean there will be vaccine available, but I can finally try to get the vaccine without cheating.
I’m glad you’re finally able to get it where you’re comfortable. But please stop phrasing it as
cheating. As many of us have explained, pharmacy programs and private insurance companies like Kaiser were allowed to expand their eligibility. As were individual counties. It is not cheating.

This article discusses how counties expanded their own eligibility. They were not required to follow the state.

It IS cheating if you are not eligible under the providers criteria. So yes, it is cheating still

I posted in another thread, but all people 16+ in my state (IL) are eligible on 4/12. I made an appointment for my first shot on 4/15 at the federal mass vaccine location about an hour from my house. They told me I’ll be getting Pfizer. I’m very excited to get the ball rolling, finally!

So I was in the AZ vaccine trial but got the placebo:( (had my antibodies tested). I have an appointment Wednesday for the Moderna vaccine at a Publix an hour north of me. My 17 year old got her first shot (Pfizer) yesterday. Making progress!

LMAO! As I reported a couple of hours ago, I was able to get DW an appointment in ORLANDO for next week when we are taking DD back up to UCF.

A few minutes ago, Miami-Dade County called DW (I registered her months ago on their website) and offered her an appointment. This MONDAY at Zoo Miami! That will eliminate the possible need for an extra trip up to Orlando.

I had registered her the first day the county website opened and Monday is the first day she's eligible, so I guess it worked.

Some days Karma is my friend!
