Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

Some people in the right place at the right time have gotten vaccines that might have been wasted otherwise.

This was my situation. I put my name on a list in case there were vaccinations that were set to be thrown away. They called me a hour before closing and told me they had leftovers. I made sure to ask that it was okay that I was not eligible at this time and they assured me it was.

I was able to get it Monday!

Hey there disboarders,
Thanks to all who’ve been sharing. Thought I’d share my COVID experience so far.
24 hours after my first Pfizer shot and my side effects have been fairly mild. Starting around 4 hours post-shot I had 2-3 hours of feeling cold (house was not cold, set furnace at 69 degrees). No fever tho.
Mild headache started at the same time and continues as I type but not bad enough to take any Tylenol.
Arm is sore but nowhere near as sore as I experienced with the new shingles vaccine.
I’m staying hydrated (Gatorade) and have been stretching my arm since yesterday so those things may have helped mitigate the side effects.
Walgreens was efficient and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Injection didn’t hurt at all.

Great thread. As new vaccines are approved, please also specify which vaccine you take, and if you receive it at the workplace, doctor’s office or pharmacy.

I live in Chicago and got my first one at the United Center (where the Bulls play) last Saturday. I am 77 so I was in Illinois group 1B. It was a real on-line scramble to get the appointment though as as soon as they were posted they were gone. There is real competition here for them... and even if you meet the age qualification there is no guarantee that you will get one at this early stage of distribution.

Yes. The J&J vaccine on 3/11. No side effects at all. I had a worse reaction to the shingles shot(s).

I was able to get DH an appointment for next Thursday. Still going to look for one closer to us but he will take this one if I can't find anything. So happy to be getting closer to normal. I will be fully vaccinated in 2-3 weeks.

Hi, New Jersey here...I got my first dose of Pfizer this morning at a mega site in South Jersey. So far so good. I feel so thankful to have gotten my 1st dose. My 2nd dose is already scheduled for April 7th

I got my first Moderna shot a week ago today. Am I the only one picturing my immune system arming itself a little more every day against the enemy?

I'm thinking it's like the montage from Mulan where they're at training camp... "let's get down to business...to defeat...um...COVID" Doesn't have quite the same ring to it

My wife got her first Pfizer earlier today. She is napping now, but that seems to be it. Second scheduled for 3 weeks from today. Shot was given at a different National Guard run mass vax site than the NG run site I got mine at, run with precision, just like the one where I got mine.

Today's side effect from yesterday's shot was extremely minimal, just a bit of sore arm in area where shot was given. Looking forward to 3 weeks from now for the second one.

I got my first Pfizer dose this morning. I have a head ache and kind of “foggy.” I’m going to take a nice nap and hopefully I’ll feel better when I wake up.

He did sign up as a volunteer in a couple of weeks and can get one when he does that

received first shot last week, scheduled second shot for 3/3. Pfizer latest testing results are interesting. Not only does it decrease the likely hood of getting COVID (and if you do it is a very mild case) but it stops you from being a carrier. This is a game changer as now there is no need once you receive both shots for masks, since you cannot be a carrier. Since they give you a card, you should be able to go maskless as long as you carry the card.

I know the feeling. Especially with the info coming from Israel. And that’s coming from a hardcore masker. But I ain’t going to do it because I feel like unless it’s stamped on my forehead, people will think ill of me. No pun intended.

Got my first dose of Moderna at lunch. Second dose scheduled for 5 weeks (apparently this is ok and it is all the pharmacy was offering).

I got the Johnson vaccine this past Saturday. After a couple hours I felt a little more tired than usual but nothing concerning. The following day my arm was sore as hell and I was extremely tired and just took it easy. Monday my arm was still a bit sore but was good as new otherwise. Hope everyone else has minimal reactions as well. Can’t wait to get back to traveling and getting back to Disney.

I got my first Moderna vaccine on Monday accompanying my elderly mother for her second shot. Not really any side effects so far for this first shot, we'll see about the second. I wasn't expecting to be eligible until late May so canceled our May 2021 trip. Turns out I would have been fully vaccinated by the trip after all. I'm willing to wait though until 2022 for a more "normal" Disney.

I was surprised that CVS didn't seem to have it together, because they are usually fantastic with clinics. In any case, looking forward to second dose on April 6th, and hoping they have figured out how to run their clinic by then.

My DH (45) is scheduled to get his first shot on Sunday! Two of my friends get theirs tomorrow. I’m so excited!

I’m fully vaxxed and going into stores again has felt so, so good lol. I can’t wait for others to feel like that, ha!

Update: After first Moderna shot yesterday about 12:30 I started to feel nauseous a couple hours later. I slept a bit and then had a piece of toast to see if I could hold it down. Made scrambled eggs later and that went ok too. Finally went to bed and was fine all night. This morning is just a bit of a sore arm at the injection site.

Hoping the 2nd isn't too bad.

I got my first shot (Moderna) yesterday. Just a little bit of a sore arm at the injection site. Otherwise doing well. Second shot will be 4/14 (and was stressed several times at the site I got my shot).

Got Moderna back in January and 2nd in Feb

I had Covid last March so the first shot floored me and the 2nd was not a big deal. I jave heard that if you had Covid that's what happens and a few people I know had the same reactions.
