Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

Got my 1st Pfizer like 28 hours ago lol.

My arm is REALLY sore. Like had a hard time lifting it to pay for my Wendy’s tonight sore haha. I probably looked crazy when I realized I didn’t know if I’m be able to reach out the window. Lol. I succeeded.

No other effects yet, so I’ll take it!

As a follow up, DH had his 2nd pfizer shot Tuesday morning at 9am - felt find throughout the day and we thought he'd luck out and be symptom free since he didn't have any symptoms except for a sore upper arm at the injection site after the first 12 hrs.

We went to bed at 11pm and he woke up at some point that night/early morning feeling "cold" and then tossed and turned the rest of the night - not that I heard him - obviously Im a slacker wife.. :rolleyes2

We both got up at 6am to take the puppies potty & so I could get ready for work (I'm at work FT at home and have to be on the computer at 6:30) and he was stiff and achey but no longer felt "cold"....he took tylenol with his breakfast and started moving and was out the door to go to work by 10am.

He got home at 5pm and "felt fine" - DH does have psoriasis on his knees and he said his knees felt stiff, BUT they can be stiff on occasion anyway...but his wrist and elbow in the arm he received his dose were still stiff by the end of yesterday (Wednesday)...

He woke up feeling normal today.

I told him when I get my shots (who knows when ..:crazy2:) that I want the same symptoms he had!

It's now two days post my 2nd Moderna vaccine and although I had quite a few symptoms the day of the vaccine and the next day, I now feel back to normal with just a bit of a sore arm. I am so thankful that I was able to get both doses so quickly, and would absolutely do it again!

My mom (77) got her second Moderna shot yesterday. Her arm was immediately burning and painful. Enough so that she stayed at the vaccination site for the 15 minutes (it is not required here.) She scared my sister last night when she wasn't answering her phone so DH and I (we live closer) ran over to check on her at 7:45 and woke her up. She said that she had been feeling dizzy starting around 5 so had gone to bed. We made sure she had eaten and drank some water. Checked in this morning and she said that she woke up achy and with a bit of a headache but ibuprofen mostly took care of it. This is a bit more extreme than she felt the first time.

DH got his second Moderna first thing this morning. He had no side effects the first dose so we'll see how today goes.

Wow! So after my second dose yesterday I posted I was achy but no fever.

Overnight I had fever, aches, chills, blech! Definitely a worse reaction to second dose, but overall, still nothing that should stop anyone from getting vaccine. I still have a slight fever, but the sore arm is much better and I'm starting to feel better overall.

So my 75 yo mother got her first Pfizer vaccine. (No reaction other than a bit of a sore arm for a few hours and a slight headache that could be sinus related and not from vaccine. All pretty much went away by nighttime.) And after that I found out about the problem of pinching the skin when it should go directly into the muscle. My mom says she thinks they pinched the skin. :-(

I will be sure to watch next time, but I wonder if she won’t get the full immunity after second dose. Will the antibody tests out there now give any indication of level of immunity?

I will start spreading the word about this issue to others getting the vaccine as well.

Can I just say I LOL at your slacker wife comment. :teeth:

My mom got her 1st dose of Pfizer this morning. She is a teacher and in her county all the schools closed today and they did a massive clinic at the two biggest schools in the county. I will check in with her later today and report how things went for her.

No, but I'm eligible for a vaccine as part of Lifestreams Volunteer Program. I guess I'm considered a frontline worker because of that.

I'm holding off on the vaccine though, not because I don't trust it, but because I don't feel like I'm a priority to have it. I'm young and healthy, and even if it's only one vaccination, that's one vaccination that could be going to someone who needs it a lot more than I do.
