I received my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine this morning. After the first dose, I experienced arm pain that day, and a increasingly severe fatigue starting about 6 hours after, and fever, loss of appetite, and generally feeling unwell 24 hours after. It all resolved about 60 hours after I received the injection.

I really have no idea what to expect with this one, but the general arm pain is about the same and the fatigue hit at about the same time. I also haven't been hungry at all today. My arm is much more tender than last time, but I have a bruise this time and didn't last time (and I bled more this time), so that could explain the tenderness. I've planned a low-key weekend just in case.

Many of my colleagues got dose 1 of the Moderna this week and experienced arm pain, but nothing more. I belong to a COVID response FB group for people in my profession, and a number of people are reporting getting swelling, redness, and pain approximately one week after receiving Moderna, like was mentioned a few posts ago. I thought that was pretty interesting!

Like with dose 1, I waited the required 15 minutes post-vaccination today. The room was so crowded that there weren't enough waiting spots, and people had to drag extra chairs to random spots in between vaccination stations.

I did have to wait 30 minutes since I have a sulfa allergy. I had zero reaction.

It is so interesting to see how sites are doing it so differently! I also have a sulfa allergy but they didn't even ask. They only asked about severe vaccine reactions. I have a sulfa drug allergy, have reacted to injectable sumatriptan, and have food allergies... none of that was of concern, which was a little bit disconcerting for me! I did have my epi on me and figured at least I was in a hospital, but I was surprised they didn't ask for more allergy information.

Seems there is no consistency with the vaccine distribution either. Lol. I was also in a hospital and they have epi pens on hand. Plenty of med students, interns, residents, fellows and nurses around. It was also extremely busy but ran so smoothly.

It’s been 7 hours and my arm is pretty sore. Other than that I have no other side effects yet.

Good news. My grandma in LTC was able to get hers today! It was supposed to be a few weeks ago.
The workers also came around and my dad said they got the shot. He said all that work with her did. Originally they all said they wouldn’t. So either they realized lots of other people are waiting to get their spot or I wonder if the facility gave an incentive or something. It was a big change of opinion in like a week.

Teachers (me) can get it starting February 1st. I don’t work in a district, so I’m not sure how to get mine. I also have students coming back Monday after exposure (apparently our county board of health has given up on cdc guidelines for contacts of infections quarantining longer), so probably will be too late for me. Sigh.

I am in the 1B sector-school employee. We are hearing next month. My daughter in law is a nurse and she got her vaccine 2 weeks ago. She didn’t have any reactions other than a little bit of a sore arm

I just got the moderna vaccine.

They have the entire conference center set up. There’s an intake room, check in room, vaccine rooms (one for Pfizer and one for moderna) and observation room. It was very busy but everyone knows what they are doing and it runs smoothly. Lots of med students working there.

It was painless to get. I didn’t feel it at all. I did feel some tingling ten minutes later but that was it.

I did have to wait 30 minutes since I have a sulfa allergy. I had zero reaction.

Were you given any choice about which vaccine room to go into (Pfizer or Moderna)? Or did they tell you where to go? Just wondering if you would have been able to choose Pfizer instead if that had been an issue for whatever reason.

They sent me a link to schedule and When I clicked the link to set it up it already had me preset for moderna. There was no option to change it or pick the Pfizer. I don’t think I could’ve switched once I arrived due to them saving Pfizer doses for the second shots. From what I saw the only people receiving Pfizer were there for their second doses.

Thank you. For some reason, one of my doctors thinks I might do better with the Moderna vaccine, but who knows if I will have any say in the matter. A few nurses have advised me just to take a Benadryl an hour before my appointment time (when it finally comes!), just to be safe, no matter which vaccine I get.

My arm got really sore last night but this morning it’s mildly achy but that could be better because I recently took ibuprofen. I had a headache last night and got up at 2 am to take ibuprofen. No other symptoms so far which I’m happy about since I heard so much about having bad symptoms if you recently had covid.

They asked everyone if they had an allergy. They really didn’t seem overly concerned. When he asked I told him I had a sulfa allergy and they placed a sticker on my badge so when I got to the observation room they knew to have me wait 30 minutes. If you had any type of allergy you had to wait 30 minutes. There were people with penicillin allergies, sulfa, food, etc. Out of 30 people in the room 7-8 had some kind of allergy. I think it’s more of being overly cautious with a new vaccine and not wanting any bad publicity.

I've just completed my Imms & Vaccs training update to include the two vaccines (I'm a UK nurse) so I'm hoping to start administering the vaccine soon but I've yet to have mine. At the moment they're concentrating on healthcare staff who are higher risk e.g. with underlying conditions.

Got my 2nd dose yesterday about noon. Arm was much more sore, much earlier. Started feeling soreness within 30 minutes, where it was about 4-5 hours after the first (and is typically the next day for me with the flu shot). After the first shot all I had was a sore arm, nothing else. Though the nurse who administered the 2nd one said that my skin was tough and it took a little more effort to get the needle in than normal, and the shot site bled a decent-ish amount (bandaid was pretty full when I took it off), so not sure if that had anything to do with it. About midnight last night I woke up with chills, nausea, and what felt like a low grade fever (didn't want to get up to check my temp). All relatively mild. I still have some nausea and a lack of appetite this morning, but overall feeling better than I did from about 12-3 AM. A little fatigued right now, too, but I think some of that may be from lack of sleep. Still very much worth it for me!

Said he slept wearing a jacket with a space heater directed on him all night.

Fever and chills now in waves, but has a massive migraine and fatigue.

Called in to the hospital to call out of work this evening. They told him to take tylenol and if he feels better this afternoon, to report for his shift.

Hope it passes soon for him. I just keep thinking this is easier than catching Covid.

Hope it passes soon for him. I just keep thinking this is easier than catching Covid.

That's pretty much identical to how I was in the trial. Tylenol helps more than Advil does, at least for me. It'll go away pretty quickly, he might feel some lingering malaise this week but the "hangover" headache/chills feeling didn't last longer than a day after onset for me.
