Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

Curious. For everyone who is for such a vaccine passport...what age would you require it from? If everyone, including infants and toddlers, are eligible for the vaccine, would you require it of those young ones as well?

To do exactly what? is the question. I wouldn't deny anyone access to anything. I would relieve the burden of protective measures to those who do possess one. I honestly don't think any of it would really work. I just hope that enough people do vaccinate so that we claw our way out of this mess.

Update on my first Pfizer shot. First couple of days, I had a sore arm and some body aches. Those are gone now. Now, I'm just fatigued, so I took the day off. Anyone else have delayed fatigue? I'm not looking forward to the second one. But I can't wait to get it over with. I want to be conscious for May.

Yep. I got delayed fatigue. I posted about it earlier in this thread. It lasted until day 11 post vaccine and is now totally gone. I feel back to normal. It also didn't kick in until about day 5 post vaccine.

Probably 18+. I don’t see how ethically you could require it before that when they aren’t allowed to make their own medical decisions.

SF Giants are requiring full vaccination (including the 2 weeks post last dose) or a negative test for anybody 12 and older. I know that’s not exactly the same situation though.

My daughter an RN had a pretty significant 24 hour reaction to the second dose. Then vanished. We often talk about the variety of responses to the vaccine and if may be an indication of how one would have faired with the actual disease. Probably not but its all over the place in how the body deals in antibody build up.

I don’t know anything about future plans. I will say, I don’t see why it would be necessary, though. You never have to get out of your car and the two locations where you interact with a vaccine worker, when giving your QR code and getting the injection, are both in covered areas. No way to get rained on as it is and, since these sites are set up with the goal being maximum efficiency, having people get out of their cars to go to an indoor location would only slow things down.

In addition to this, another reason to do it outside is safety. The drive-through mass vaccination site near me is a constant stream of cars. Processing that many people indoors would defeat some of the site's own purpose. The one here vaccinates around 250 people per hour. Putting that number of not-yet-vaccinated people into a high school gym or something would be... well, an ironic way to get infected.

Just a datapoint on J&J.

My wife just got the J&J vaccine yesterday afternoon. She said the after effect at the injection site was more sore than any flu vaccine she remembers ever getting. Also, she broke out in hives around her midsection and arm in the middle of the night (about 10 hours later) with a low-grade fever (100.6 highest). In reference, she has never gotten hives from any other vaccine in the past.

Looks like someone else had rashes from J&J as well. This man had a much severe case, though.

My daughter (in the medical profession) had her second shot a few weeks ago. She ran a fever for about a day.

DH 24 hours later after second moderna shot. Sore arm, nothing else. He is doing a puzzle at the moment.

Last night he said he felt chilled (the house was set to 65 degrees), I jumped up to get the fancy forehead thermometer our DS gave us. Took temp 96 something. Did it again 105 something, tried again , read lo then hi....at that point I changed the batteries. Got 96 something three times. Then he went off to puzzle for two hours. Pretty sure he didn't have that 105 temp.

To add to the posts about vaccine card. We had gotten the vaccines at Rite Aid. They gave us a card, but told us if we lost it, we can go to any Rite Aid to get a new one.

DH, age 50 slightly overweight, ex smoker but chews nicotine gum, got his first Moderna yesterday. Can not see the site at all. He was a little tired yesterday afternoon and took a 2 hour long nap but that could have been just because he got up at 5:30. Said his arm was a little sore. Had no problems sleeping on it last night. Says he can tell where the shot was but it doesn't really hurt at all. He says he is tired and has a slight headache but the headache could be springtime in Georgia and the being tired could be just because. I hate him.

I had my first Moderna 9 days ago. Two days ago, I developed a small rash around the site, not raised and not as big as a little fingernail. Yesterday, the rash was slightly larger. Today the rash is again larger, probably 2 inches around the entire site. Does not itch or hurt. I'm a 64 year old woman, smallish, in good health with a good immune system. Only had decent pain in the arm the second day after the shot and just the tiniest of bruises around day 3.

My husband got his first shot of Pfizer last Saturday. He was fine other then some soreness in his arm until Monday. Monday he ended up taking off of work and sleeping most of the day. He could barley stay awake while working. He was fine by Tuesday.

One week post Pfizer I’ve been tired all week but not anything like the the day after. It could be my body working to get my immune system kicking in or totally unrelated. Oddly I’ve been sleeping really soundly, no dreams. Not normal for me. I generally wake up at least twice a night. Though it’s not sore anymore I still feel my arm.

First Moderna shot yesterday!!! Arm is sore and I feel under the weather, though the latter is probably because I'm allergic to every flowering plant ever Soreness is comparable to the tetanus booster and infinitely less than the meningitis B vaccine, if anyone's had that.

I'm sure this has been posted before, but the best way I know of to minimize soreness is to keep massaging the vaccination site after you get it

I was told by the person watching us after the shot not to do this. That it can cause a reaction at the injection site. I was told to move my arm.

I got my first dose of Pfizer yesterday. My arm was pretty sore a few hours afterward. I just kept moving it around, as much as it hurt to lift it over my head. I also had a dull headache for most of the day. I’ve planned to take a sick day for the second dose. I’m worried that the side effects will be worse after that one.
