Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

I had the pleasure of working in the drive through vaccination clinic in my home town last week; and, it was awesome to see everyone rolling through to get this done. I am so so tired of covid and all the people I know who have been impacted. I'm hoping to get another opportunity to take part soon.

Received first dose of Moderna 3/12/21. Second dose this week! Sore arm for an evening. Dh received Moderna 3/6/21. No side effects. The hope of birthday parties, national holidays being spent with my family, makes me ecstatic! Wishing the best for everyone!
You received your first dose next week and you get your second dose this week? I'm guessing this was a typo that is supposed to read 2/12?

Received my J&J shot yesterday at 12pm. Was tired last night and went to bed at 8 pm. I had a lot of weird dreams and woke up this morning feeling like I have the flu. Body aches, nausea and still so tired. Worth it though to know I won’t ever have severe Covid!

Over 24 hours since dh and I got the Pfizer first dose.

Only sore arms at the injection site for us. He got it in his dominant arm, me non-dominant.

We've both tried to move more than usual.

Still a little surreal today to think we have been vaccinated for something we were just starting to endure this time last year.
What a year it has been!

We - my husband and I - got our first shots Friday as well. Pfizer. Bit of arm pain Saturday, nothing to bad or that required Tylenol. Second shot scheduled for the 26th.

Youngest got his second Moderna shot on Thursday and spend the better part of Friday night & Saturday down for the count, but much better Sunday morning.

Just a datapoint on J&J.

My wife just got the J&J vaccine yesterday afternoon. She said the after effect at the injection site was more sore than any flu vaccine she remembers ever getting. Also, she broke out in hives around her midsection and arm in the middle of the night (about 10 hours later) with a low-grade fever (100.6 highest). In reference, she has never gotten hives from any other vaccine in the past.

Had my second Moderna dose on Thursday. Had a few body aches and a headache but nothing unbearable! I did take Tylenol and that helped. Arm pain was milder this time than the first dose.

Anecdotally, my 2 coworkers think they had Covid last year and they both felt AWFUL after their second dose, with horrible shakes and body aches with fevers for 24 hours after. I don't THINK I have had Covid (at least no symptoms for it) and my post-vaccine symptoms were much milder than I expected.

My mom got the J&J vaccine today at a CVS. She had to drive about an hour to get it. AFAIK she’s doing fine so far.
Update: My mom reported zero side effects from the J&J vaccine.

EDIT: My aunt (my mom's sister) is scheduled for a J&J vaccine tomorrow. My dad gets his first vaccine today at Walgreens...based on his scheduled dates, sounds like he's getting Moderna.

He told me that my aunt (his sister) and my uncle got their first doses this weekend. Both of them had COVID a couple of months ago. Per my dad, my aunt did okay with the vaccine. My uncle is having a rougher time though...he had a worse case of COVID (was hospitalized for awhile) and is now dealing with some kind of lung infection + pneumonia as a result. After the vaccine, he "feels like he has COVID all over again." :(

So for anyone on the fence about getting the vaccine, THAT is why you get it. Had he been vaccinated, he probably still would have gotten COVID (they weren't being careful, unfortunately), but it likely would have been a much milder case.

Got my first Pfizer shot on Friday at an educator's clinic. It was nice to see some of my school staff friends after almost a year! On Saturday, I woke up with a sore arm, minor headache, vague body aches, a little fatigue, just kind of blah but nothing major. We had planned on taking a long walk that day and I still felt well enough to go. In the evening, my arm was even more sore and I felt a little more blah. I considered taking Tylenol but decided I didn't really need it. By Sunday morning, my arm was a lot better and the vague symptoms had mostly cleared up. Today (Monday), my arm is only sore if I press on it. I get my 2nd shot on 3/26. Looking forward to getting it done!

My friend just got her first vaccine last Thursday (Pfizer). She had a lot of systemic side effects over the weekend (bad headache and body aches).

Just curious, for those of you who had bad effects on the first shot, how did your second shot go?

I had side effects with the second but they lasted 12 hours and were gone at the 24 hour mark. With the first I didn’t have a fever but I did with the second. I had body aches, chills and headache with both.

My husband and I both got our first dose last week. We got them at different places since we work in different towns - I got Moderna, he got Pfizer. My arm was really sore for about 3 days but he had no side effects. My mom goes for her 2nd dose this week. She had no side effects from the first dose so I'm hoping for the same with the 2nd dose. Fingers crossed.

Did you have Pfizer or Moderna? Thanks for the feedback.

I had my first shot this past Friday afternoon, found out it was Pfizer when I got there - I had to wait 30 min afterwards bc I have sufla/cillin allergies and the nurse wanted me to wait longer "just in case" but I was fine! My arm hurt that night and when I woke up Saturday morning I was a little draggy, and even though DH and I went out for a walk and then I went out groceries that afternoon by the end of the day I was worn out. No fever, no chills, no aches or other pains...(other than the shot site)

Woke up Sunday morning feeling 100%!

Shot #2 is March 26th! Bring it on!

Looks like there are a few of us with second Pfizer shots on the 26th!

DH gets his second Moderna on the 26th. DS18 got his first shot today, he ended up with Pfizer. Staff told him he probably wouldn't have much of any side effects due to his age, which is probably correct. He and I both get our seconds on the 29th.

This thread is so encouraging! I love hearing all the vaccine success stories!

Got mine at 3:15AM today !! J & J --- one and DONE !!! Javits Center in NYC did a great job ! The national Guard handled, and everything worked perfectly--- we live in Brooklyn, and left house at 2:30AM--- had a 4:15AM appt, but they let everyone in early--- was very orderly--- Was home at 4:30AM !!! The only time I felt anything was in the car on the way home--- just a bit of soreness, but nothing I would even take Tylenol for !
