Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

Has anyone seen availability for the J&J vaccine, yet? If so, in what state? The reports have been saying that they were looking at shots in arms sometime this week. However, since the final distribution is made by the individual states, I imagine that availability will vary. I have heard that distribution of the J&J vaccine may be targeted toward facilities that have been unable to have the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, due to the strict storage requirements.
NH announced today that they'll be running a 10,000 dose clinic over the course of the weekend at the Nascar speedway, distributing Johnson and Johnson. They're calling up folks in the current vaccine phase whose appointments were scheduled for April and moving them to this clinic if possible.

My dad and his wife are also going to be eligible on Thursday, so I'll be trying to help them find appointments. My dad said he'd signed up with the Board of Health to be on their waitlist and I was like, "Okay, but...if you check with pharmacies maybe you'll get in faster and not have to wait for the BoH to call!" He also said he wants Pfizer or Moderna, not J&J and doesn't want to drive too far...which, okay, I get that you want things, buuuut you may just need to take what's there.

Do you find the Marc's website hard to navigate? Whenever I look there it only shows me one location and doesn't let me look at anything else.

Good luck finding appointments!

Marc's has been a pain this time. It was easy when I scheduled DH's grandmother. Giant Eagle seems to be better. Drug Mart won't even let you look. You sign up and they will contact you when something opens. I can't look at Rite Aid or Walgreens until Thursday. It has been a day of refreshing over and over. I almost had a few appointments but by the time I clicked on it they were gone.

Good Luck to you as well.

It got my second Pfizer this morning first thing. I had an hour or so of feeling tired but nothing like how I felt after the first shot. That one wiped me out in a big way- it felt like being underwater- everything felt heavy in my body. Im feeling good and so so happy right now! DH gets his second week after next and then it is just our kids (only one who is of age to get it). All our parents have had both shots and are doing well. :)

My SIL gets hers Sunday, she works for the school district in CA.

DD was informed that they should be eligible in the next month at her job. They will pay their employees to get it AND sick time for side effects. She previously thought she’d have to wait until May and was planning to get it so it’s a big bonus for her all around. I’m happy for her and relieved.

24h past my first Pfizer shot. My arm was pretty sore yesterday, and felt kind of stiff/heavy. I felt a little weird/tired last night but slept ok, and feel fine today (and last night could have been stress/anxiety and me being overly aware because of the vaccination). My arm is still sore if I lift my upper arm, but it's more localized and less than yesterday.

Overall totally no big deal. :)

48 hour update - my arm isn’t even sore anymore, and I feel totally fine.

The arm soreness was a bit more severe than my flu shot in the fall, but went away faster. Neither was in any way debilitating, just a mild ouch

Well, back from my shot. About an hour drive each way. Site run by the National Guard. Very efficient in processing LOTS of people.

So far, no symptoms of side effects. Maybe I'll be lucky and be this way tonight and tomorrow.

........and I'm hoping Rob joins me for coffee in the morning. ;) Have a good night, Dan. :goodvibes:
