Have you ever gone to Disney restaurants with a larger party- ex. 8? Have you ever asked for separate checks? Does anyone know if this is a problem? We are going with another family and just wondered how to handle this. Any suggestions or experiences?

Yep- been to many restaurants with a party of 11. We were sure to make PS for the really important meals- mainly character meals. We asked that our tables be next to each other. We did make our PS for 11 people and were told we would be at separate tables. We have been next to each other every meal out of 2 trips. Also, we have asked for separate checks each meal- not a problem at all. My main suggestion is to make PS for meals you really want to do. if not, you may have a hard time eating all at once. We did walk up to a couple of places without a PS- Garden Grill and CRT for dinner- and didn't have many problems, just some confusion when we were being seated. Have a great time!!!

We're going in November with a party of 8 and we were wondering the same thing. We're going with my parents and my inlaws. I think it is so hard to figure bills out, let alone the tip. Everyone tips differently and it's hard to tell someone to kick in more. I hope we have no trouble with separate checks.

For the past few years we've eaten many times with a party of 11. The waitstaff has never been anything but accomodating upon our requests for separate checks. We usually inform them before ordering that we would like separate checks, then again before the check is prepared. This request is sometimes met with the "eye-roll", at non-Disney restaurants, but we've NEVER received one at a Disney restaurant.

Just be aware that they will sometimes include the gratuity on large parties, even if separate checks are prepared. I just hate it when I look over my bill later and discover I've tipped them TWICE, to the tune of about 48%....LOL

It sounds like we will be having an almost identical vacation! We are going to WDW on 11/8 with my parents and my inlaws as a party of 7! We had already decided that the easiest way to handle eating all together would be to request separate checks and hope that it would not be a problem.

Maybe we'll run into you in one of the restaurants as we're all driving the servers crazy asking for so many checks!:p

We had a party of 10 at the Biergarten. The serve gladly divided the check up into 3 (one couple; one couple with two kids and one couple with a kid & a grandparent). They did add the grauity in since the whole party was more than 8, but that was fine.

phyllis1966 It's cool to hear when others are going the same time we are. I'm already trying to plan out where and when we'll be dining. I am really looking forward to the Food and Wine Festival. Everyone can be happy there and everyone gets separate checks!
