to Mgm from the swan and dolphin?
Or to Epcot?
Or taken the boats?

Are they quicker than the bus?
We have to return our rental car to the swan and dolphin, and I am wondering whether we should walk to a park, or just take a bus.

Very easy to walk OR take the boats.

The trips you specifically mention will be about the same time to accomplish either way.
If you "just miss" a boat, it will be faster to walk than wait for another boat and then make the trip.

It is not very far in "Disney distance" considering how far most folks regularly walk at WDW parks.

The boat (or walking) is the way to get to Epcot (International Gateway in WS) and MGM from the Swan/Dolphin and other Epcot resorts.

thanks, that's what I was hoping to hear. I just figured it might be something different, as we are always taking the bus.
No map really shows how far and I did not want us wearing ourselves out before the day even started!

I think that when we stayed at the Dolphin, we were picked up first on the boat, and then had to stop at Boardwalk, Beach Club and Yacht club. So you are on the boat 10 minutes before you even start heading to MGM!! ID say the walk is about 15 minutes. Also.. some resorts DONT have busses to parks they are next door to. Im not sure there even IS a bus to MGM and Epcot from the Dolphin!!
We walked the path a twice TO MGM. Its a nice walk along the water. Now, if it was 90 degrees out, I wouldnt do it. lol We were always too tired at the end of the day to walk back to our room, so we took the boat back.

Thanks for clearing that up, I can see the 4 of us looking for a bus!!! :rotfl:

A week and a half ago, we took the boat from MGM to the Dolphin and back again after picking up and dropping off a rental car from the Dolphin. It was a short ride and we didn't have to wait long. Renting from the Dolphin was great too! :)

Here's a video I made of the Friendship Boat ride from the Epcot resorts to MGM. We love taking the boat! It's so relaxing!

Frp, MGM you are the first stop to be dropped off and there are no stops between you and MGM on the way there. For Epcot, you will stop at YC/BC & BW. We were going from MGM to Epcot and DD had to make a bathroom stop. We got off at YC, went in and walked to Epcot, arriving at the same time as the boat.

That said, at the end of the day, my family usually votes for boat just bc they are tired

Remember too, no buses from S/D to either Epcot or MGM, only boat or walk.

Personally, I never walk the MGM walk, too far for me, the boat is much quicker. Epcot is a tossup, if I am tired or not, about the same amount of time.
