Have you ever walked up to a TS and got inwith no adrs?

It's happened for us a half dozen or so times, always at lunch. It was a matter of being RIGHT THERE at the podium when they opened. This happened once at Le Cellier, and I asked the hostess what the "trick" was. She said that people often make early reservations, and that they end up not showing up because they're caught somewhere in the parks.

Dunno if that's the rule, but it's worked for us.

I agree, Dreamfinder- We have often walked up before lunch starts and they either take our reservation or tell us to come back in 30 minutes. This has worked at LTT, crystal palace, and the Mexican restaraunt. I don't know about dinner though. We have called WDW DINE the day of our need and taken whatever is available. We have tried restaraunts that we wouldn't have tried if given the first choice and for the most part have been very pleased. Nancy

Was there over Easter- we had one more tablesevice credit to use before we left-called the night before -no adr's available for breakfast --anywhere. We went to 1900 Park fare in the am --no adr's--left our name and waited 5 minutes for a table. --Hey it's worth a try--you might get lucky.

We were at Epcot this past Sunday and we got seated at Le Cellier right at 4pm for dinner without ressies. We only waited about 5 minutes to get in, but we were one of the first people in when they opened the doors. Mighty lucky, too. They filled up fast and I had never eaten there. I highly recommend it if you can get in there.

My DW, DD and I got in for dinner at Chefs de France one evening in February at 9:45 PM without ADRs (it was extra magic hours) after we walked out of Rose and Crown after appetizers because of poor service. We had great food and wonderful service at CdF. We have also had lunch there on several occasions without ADRs, but, of course, it depends on the time of year. We generally go in less crowded times now that it is just DW and me.

We have also had good luck when the restaurant opens. We got a table at Garden Grill for an 11am lunch during this Easter week. We also had good luck at MGM at the little information booth that does reservations. We got a lunch reservation at Mama Melroses.

I had ADRs for everything during our Jan trip but due to last minute problems and a few changes, we were able to get O'Hanas same day ressie, walk in at Tony's and Garden Grill.

We tried to dine at Le Cellier earlier than our ADR and was told no luck, they we too booked. We were late to WCC and the let us in, no problem.

Good luck!

Our last 2 trips, September 2005 and Jan 2007, we had no ressies and the only place we were turned away from was Chef Mickey's on a Friday for dinner. Other than that, we were seated within a few minutes for all meals.

Of course, these were definitely low times of year.

June trip, Rainforest Cafe in DTD. 2 hour wait. We didnt care we went shopping.

The very first time we ate at Le Cellier we did not have a reservation. That was in June of 05. It was on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Tried again without a reservation in December of that year and no luck!! Already have my reservation for my June trip.

I have also eaten at Brown Derby a few times without a reservation. We also ate at San Angel Inn this past December for lunch as walk-up with no wait at all.

I think everyone worries too much about ADR's.
We usually don't have a problem getting seated at a TS restaurant.
When it's 2 people I have always been seated at a variety of popular restaurants. We have been turned away occasionally with 4 but rarely.
I think they must keep some % of tables available that aren't reserved through Disney Dining.

I don't make reservations for TS meals. I usually do my TS meal at lunch. We usually have a snack bfast and go have lunch early at a TS restaurant. The key for us is to show up right around the time the restaurant opens. We were seated within 5 minutes of arrival at 50's and immediately at Le Cellier last trip. Previous trips the same results at 50's, Tony's, Coral Reef and Sci-fi. Oddly, the longest I've ever waited was when we did have reservations at Yachtsman..

Didn't happen to me but my SIL.....
She showed up at CRT for breakfast during Spring Break week.....was able to get her name on the list and only waited 15 minutes!!!!!

This is the same trip that they drove down at the last minute with no reservation for accommodations. The called ahead and tried to get a room at the Polynesian for 6 nights and were told no availability. Well, when they got there, they drove over to the Poly and walked up to the desk....and were able to get in! Lots of Pixie Dust that trip!:wizard:

San Angel Inn when they had just opened for lunch (11 am)- this was during free dining too! We've also walked into Mama Melrose's for a late lunch- around 2 pm, I think.

I second(or third) the fact that you have a much better chance of getting one when they first open. We have done this numerous times at LTT, CP, Boma, WCC and 50's prime time. I'm pretty sure there were more too. I usually don't like to book all of our adr's before. I make 5 or 6 and then we go with the flow.
It feels so stressful to always be looking at the clock because you want to eat a decent meal.

We have never been able to work up to a TS and get in. Never. We've been able to make ADRs on the same day, but never got in as a walk up.

We called from CSR to get an ADR for WCC that night. No availabilty. We decided we wanted to go check out WL anyway so we headed on over.
We walked up to the podeum, got a pager, and had a table in less than 30 min. This was in Sept during free dining. Our dd loves the lodge, and can run around the bridge/stream area for 30 min any day.
We'll be spending 6 nights there this Sept for free dining.

They must hold some tables back for walkups everyday.

We have all our ADRS done.

My MIL and FIL are not to worried. I added them to 3 of ours. They seem to think it will work out. We are going for free dining too! I hope it works for them. But they dont stress anything and it always works out for them. So well see?????

I had cancelled a ADR two years ago, and thought I could easily get one to replace it. Nope, had to use my table service as a breakfast instead. NOTHING was available for dinner. I wouldn't risk it but thats just me.
