Where did you stay, eat, what did you do?
I'm just curious. It just amazes me to see all those cars coming over the bridges. I often wonder where people stay and what they think of us!
I for one like the busy season. I'm always nice to the tourists on the roads and the waterways.

Tomorrow officially starts summer:Pinkbounc

I practically live on Cape Cod in the summer and have since I was 6mos old.

I mostly spend my time in Dennis and Wellfleet. My brother works for the Nantucket PD and my cousin lives on the Vineyard, so I spend a lot of time visiting the islands as well

I've always dreamed of living on the Cape full time :)

Yep, a while back, we went to Nantucket and then on to Newport. I forget where we ate, but we had the greatest chowder and fried clams from the restaurant right by the ferry before we went over to Nantucket. Spoiled me for clams ever since -- especially when you live in the Midwest, where you can literally never get fresh clams.

We stayed with DW's uncle at his summer house on the island for four or five days. Had a wonderful time and we're working on trying to get back there again this year. :)

Steve, if you go to Nantucket, let me know.
I can hook you up with a police escort :p

I'm heading to the midwest for school...and people are already bribing me to have fresh seafood sent out.

My sister lives in Sandwich so me and the kiddles are going down for a few days in July. Midweek - I NEVER go on the weekends! I prefer to visit her in the fall or spring because it is gorgeous down the Cape - and there are no crowds.

We like to eat at Seafood Sam's. We are used to fresh seafood (being from Marblehead) so we like it there. It's pretty fresh!

Sometimes we go down to Dennisport if we want to stay right on the water. The area is fun with all the shops and mini-golf! And ya got to love the ZooQuarium!

Jenzebelle Dennis is where I live! I grew up in South Boston, so I just love it here on the Cape. I've been here 21 years now. I think of the Cape as being it's "own little world", once you go over the bridges everything has a different feel to it. I think I'm spoiled!

Daughter of amid - you mean you don't like all that:confused: What do you enjoy doing here on the Cape. I have a DS who is 16. He doesn't know it but we tell him all the time that he lives life like a KING! He has a pool, the beach, a boat, everyone he loves comes to visit him. I guess he's the one who's spoiled and he doesn't even know it!

Steve H We love Nantucket and MV...that's where we go to vacation if it's not Disney. The mopeds are so much fun! Have you rented them? Hope you get back there again this summer!

Last time I was there (well, the only time I was there).....well, just ask Norah. What a blizzard!!!!!!! But a great time. :)

Was that a couple of summers ago Dan? Last summer it was so hot here! I think it was 2 or 3 summers ago that it rained most of the time, especially on the weekends. We are keeping our fingers crossed for a Hot one this summer, I love the heat it makes it feel like summertime! Especially after we had such a cold winter.

No, we didn't rent mopeds that trip, since we were lucky enough to have DW's uncle have a Jeep on the island. :) One thing I do remember from that trip is how it seemed like everyone knew who all the tourists were and who were the residents -- even if you didn't "look" like a tourist! :p :p

We live 20 minutes from the Cape. DD will be in Mashpee all summer at the 4H camp there.

Lynn CC, I live in Southie. My grandfather had 2 cottages in Dennisport so we would live there for the summers while I was growing up (now they belong to my uncle). Now I go to Dennisport or Yarmouth, mostly Yarmouth several times throughout the year. I really love it in the fall. One of our favorite restaurant is Captain Parker's and my favorite icecream is from Sundae School! We also enjoy Clancy's and Molly's.

If not at the cottage, we like the Cove, Mariner and Irish Village, they have a great pub!

I went there in the 80's. I thought it was great. But I really don't remember where I stayed or even where I ate. I only remember it was very pretty and alot of fun.

I HATE IT!!!!
I cannot stand the beach or the tourists. I like it when it takes me a minute to pull out of my neighborhood....not 20.

I am off from school in the summer....and I have to deal with all of this...not cool at all.

As a kid I spent many summer vacations on the Cape. We rented a house in Wellfleet on Long Pond Rd. It was great because we could bike a lot of places. DH and I spent several preparenthood off-season vacations in Brewster and Chatham staying at various B&Bs. The last few years we've gone up with DD just after Labor Day and had a great time. There's nothing like eating a Box Lunch sandwich at Marconi Station beach.:)

Cindy - I grew up on East 5th street. I went to O.H. Perry for elementary school, Gavin for middle school. We had a house here in Dennis that we built in the early 70's (my Mom still lives in it) that we would spend summers and weekends at. Then when I met DH we got married and built our own house here in Dennis.

Do you live close to 5th street? I was just there a couple of weeks ago at St. Bridgets for a funeral.
I have so many memories of Southie:D

Now, now, Norah...all that traffic pays your bills...including college!!!!!

Dh is in the hospitality business so c'mon down!

CEDMOM The B&B's are beautiful here, arn't they! I have a lot of family that leave their kids with me and they go visit the B&B's for the weekend.

Daghter of Amid - you are too funny! You sound just like my DS. You can always come and spend the summer lounging around our pool, you don't even have to leave the house unless of course you want to go for a boat ride then you have to bike about 2 min. down the road. Where do you want to live when your out of school?
