Have you ever thought about...

Well I suppose.

Suppose? Is there any doubt that places would cease to exist in a hypothetical situation where there are still places?

I would love to take over the world. In fact, I would be the first woman to do so since all the Disney CEOs have been male thus far. ;)

The United States Civil war was just for haha's then...as people in the same nation have nothing to fight about...
No, not saying that. Shelby was making it sounds like this big society that never fought, and were pretty much perfect.

I wouldn't want that. I like debating and having different opinions. I don't really want to conform to be the same as everyone else.

But I get how being one nation would attempt to stop the wars, but like Cat said, what about Civil Wars?

Well, the United States are one nation, but every one of its citizens are different.

Heh, so wait...

You're arguing that there wouldn't be wars or fighting because that's what Sparx said?

You don't really want to conform? So then...why is it that you base your opinion completely off of what Sparx said (as you indirectly state)?

You take it as what Sparx said as the end all because you say something like this: Sparx said there wouldn't be fighting or debating and that everything would be perfect but I don't want that, I like fighting so I'm upset that it would be like that. Then you go on to defend the idea that there would be no fighting or debating. Then you say you don't want to conform (where'd that come from? lol) And you end the post by switching your ideas as you then bring up civil wars which totally counter your posts in this thread.

BabyPiglet, I hate to be a nag, but this post is COMPLETELY contradictory lol.

World domination?
No, really.

Like, the entire world is united as one country. One government. One military. One set of rules. One form of money.

There would be no war with another nation, since there is no other nation.

discuss.

would there be a universal language that everyone speaks?

There would be no war with another nation.. true, but that doesn't stop the wars within. I mean, you have countries that loath each other now.. what would stop them from fighting? Their fighting would eventually have people start to take sides and then chaos. and if people didn't side, what would happen? would they be killed?
how would you be able to keep the country under control?

Um, no. Can't say I've thought about it.

I don't think it will ever happen, though.

Too many people who think they are better than everyone else.

An absolutely impossible idea. The power countries in the world (US,China, Korea, etc) would not be willing to give up the power that they have to have "peace". Peace is an impossible element in a society of humans. We will always, as humans, the urge to have power over others. No matter how hard we try or say we won't, we want power and no person or country, settlement, whatever is going to give up power. Sure the smaller nations will be all for it. "Yay we get some say in the world" but the other countries would be like - in my best dana carvey doing george bush- "not gonna do it". Unfortunately this is the way our planet is.

First of all, I'd like to say that I completly agree with what JackNZero236 said. But, moving on, as much as I think it could be nice --if not complete global domination but at least world peace -- I don't think it would ever happen. Everyone has the right to their own opinion, and this is mine. You don't have to like my opinion, but I ask you to respect it, as I do yours.

I think it would be too too hard. To get a strong country, you need internal and external peace. Obviously, if there was only one country, we wouldn't need to worry about external problems, but, internally, we'd probably be a mess. One of the things I love about our world, is that we have a multitude of opinions, cultures, and views, and this, in my opinion, could be the downfall of the Country. Firstly, within the country, we'd be throwing cultures and peoples together that have hated each other since the start. Let alone having one civil war (such as the American Civil War), we'd be having multiple civil wars going on (Palestinians vs Isrealis, Sunnis vs Shiites...just to name a few). The Military would be streched too thin to keep the Country unified. Secondly, the Government would not be able to please everyone. Think of America, and all the problems we have. No matter what our government tries to do, there is always someone complaining about it. That is with moderate sized country. Now, with the Country, with all the cultures and peoples, it would be even more difficult, if not impossible, to please all the people in the Country. Rebellion would happen, and soon enough, we'd be back at square one, with tons of countries. This would then be hard because we would have hundreds of "baby countries" (if you don't mind the metaphor) trying to learn how to walk.

Don't get me wrong, the Greeks and the Romans were great. But that was then and this is now. Their "world" to conquer was much smaller than our world now. They had less people to worry about, less to please. Even if the Government wanted to take the example of Alexander the Great (adopting some of the customs of the countries he conquered), it would be too much of a strech with so many cultures and only one Government.

Let's not forget, there can always be a civil war.

But I don't know, I find this a confusing concept.
I'm sure English would probably become the language spoken everywhere, but I'd hate to see all the other languages die out. Other languages also seem more probable, especially when it comes to writing and grammar.

Also the different cultures of different countries; what would happen to them? If it became that in the region where the country used to be, that culture still lived, it really wouldn't be much different than it was before, other than the money.

Communism has no leader.

Hitler was not a communist, but a fascist.

Tell that to Kim Jong Il and Castro. Need I mention Stalin? In a perfect world, communism would be great, but someone has to regulate it all, and that puts them a step above everybody else. With that much power, corruption is bound to arisse.

It wouldn't work, I am afraid. Too many different economies and differences and goals that each country has. Rascist tendencies would arise and many would not want to join. Getting America to become chummy with the Middle East and Cuba, N and S Korea getting along, and the deal breaker, the Middle East with Israel. It just would be nearly impossible to do it without force.
