Have you ever taken a toddler to any of the resturants listed below?

Grand Floridian Tea
Kona Cafe
Breakfastasaurus
Pizzafari
Tusker house
Boma
Columbia Harbor house
Teppenaki
Grand Floridian Cafe
Sci-Fi Dine in
Rainforest Cafe
ESPN Club
Plaza Resturant
Prime time cafe
Whispering Canyon
Ohana
San Angle Inn

How did that turn out? I'm new at this, I'm sure there are things I havn't considered yet.

The only one of those I've been to with a toddler was Sci-Fi, and we only did dessert. I'm not sure that her attention span would have lasted through a whole meal. (And, frankly, that was enough time for me to be in there, too.

Some successful places we've eaten with a toddler: Garden Grille at EPCOT, Crystal Palace at MK, Cosmic Rays at MK.

Yes to Kona, Breakfastasaurus, ESPN, and RFC, but at home, not WDW.
Kona was fine all 3 time(twice last year, once this). I guess he likes it as much as I do.
Breakfastasaurus, he did beter than we did as we were very stressed at this meal. At one point we were at the buffet when our waiter was yelling at us to get back to our table . We all ran and left him up there. Oops! The only problem he really had here was Donald either stepped on his foot or turned and bopped him with his tail(we couldnt tell). Then he was crying at the time to met Mickey because he was hurt.
ESPN, we had a quick problem the first time since he dropped his binky and DH had to take it to wash it. After that he was fine. This year he slept through most of it. The great thing about ESPN is its pretty loud so even if the child get a little antsy, no one can really tell.
RFC at home traumatized both my kids when they were 1.5 and 4.5(this one was fine at 2 though). We havent been back yet, although the oldest is almost 6 now and he wants to go again.
Good luck!

I don't have kids, but I have seen several toddlers at Teppanyaki - they all seemed to enjoy it, and the table-cooking keeps them entertained. (I did see an infant flip her lid there one time, but that was because the chef tried to be cute and lit the smiley-face fire right by the baby - she was NOT impressed!)

I've taken my children now 4 and 18 months to:

Kona Cafe
Breakfastasaurus
Boma
Grand Floridian Cafe
Plaza Resturant
Prime time cafe
Whispering Canyon
Ohana
San Angle Inn
From your list and also to:

Artist Point
Narcoossee's
Flying Fish
Spoodles
Basically everywhere!!!

Some of the places you've mentioned, Tusker HOuse, Pizzafari and Columbia harbor HOuse are counter service places and TONS of kids will be there. You can bring your kids to most places without a problem. My kids are used to eating out, we go out at least once a week at home, so I don't have a problem bringing them to restaurants, since they know how to behave.

We've taken our daughter to every restaurant we've gone to, and that was at 17 mos, 2 1/2, 3 1/2 or 4, depending on which trip. We don't go REALLY fancy, but she's NEVER been out of place, and always done fine. Of the ones on your list, we've taken her to Breakfastasaurus (great for ANY kid); Boma (very noisy - kids are NOT a problem); SciFi Dine In (she fell asleep right in the seat of the car, sitting up - it was pretty funny); and San Angel Inn (it's quiet in there, but there were lots of kids and we never had a problem with her there). I hope that helps! We're doing 'Ohana in 2 weeks with her - she's 4 now, and it's supposed to be great for kids. Good luck!

Have been to
Tusker
Columbia House
Boma (for breakfast)
RFC
Prime time
Ohana's
Never a problem at any of them. RFC may scare some children though, so be careful. If they are scared of animals, loud noises, or the dark it is not the place for you.
I never fear bringing my DD to any restaurant. She nevers throws tantrums and is usually well behaved. I would leave if she acted up but WDW is for kids AND adults, so if your child is easy going feel free to go the any restaurant.

Rainforest Cafe (like the other poster, at home, not at WDW) - Good for lots of kids - but mine freaked at the thunderstorm when they were two (they've been a couple times now, and its gotten much better). I'm not a huge fan of the food for the price, but many people think its fantastic.

Whispering Canyon - Perfect for little kids - your child can have a forty minute screaming fit and no one will notice in this noisy boisterous restaurant (I'm exaggerating a little). Many people on this board don't like the food. We ordered steaks off the menu (not the all you can eat BBQ) and found it to be acceptable - as good as an Outback Steakhouse (or whatever chain type steakhouse you have in your area).

San Angel Inn - The tables are a little tight, which makes toddler wandering difficult (mine like to wander) and its pretty dark. But my little kids loved watching the boat ride (and riding it while we waited for food - there is almost never any line). We've eaten there twice and had pretty prompt service both times (in my experience, critical when small kids are dining). The food is excellent here (IMO).

Only you know your toddler. Some can sit for the hour and a half it takes to dine at Artist's Point (as recommended by another poster) and be quiet enough not to disturb other diners. For me and mine, Artists Point would be right out (I'd be a basket case asking for "inside voices" and my kids would have lost their patience about the time the entree arrived). Some people need to stick to Cosmic Rays (we ate there a lot - lots of room for the kids to roam, and they loved Sonny Eclipse). By dinner, expect your kids to be pretty tired - which means that they will either sit quietly for dinner - or have the "I've had a long day" tantrum.

With my kids (2 and 3 when we went) we limited our sit down dinners to just a few (Marrakesh - my daughter loved the belly dancer, San Angel Inn, Whispering Canyon, and the Ohana's character breakfast), and stuck with counter service for the rest of our meals. We added Marrakesh when we discovered our kids were better behaved than we expected when we sat down after a long day in the parks.

Of the ones you listed, we have taken our 2 year old to the following:

Pizzafari
Grand Floridian Cafe
San Angel Inn

She was fine at all of them, and the servers were always great to her.

I wouldn't hesitate to take my toddler to any of the places you mentioned.

Teresa

Yes - we took our 10 month old twins to:

Kona Cafe, Boma's, Prime Time, Breafastaurus, Sci-Fi, Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's & Ohana's - They were very good in all of them. How are your kids when you go out to eat at home? That would be a good indication of how they will be out- WDW usually has enough stuff going on to keep their attention. Good luck!

Took one at 18 months to Breakfastasaurus and she loved it!

Took her at 2 1/2 to SciFi--she thought we were very rude not to let her climb all over those nifty car climbing toys! I spent much of that meal sitting on that nice bench by the bathrooms and letting her climb all over that.

We went to Le Cellier steakhouse with our almost 2 and 5 year olds this last May. My 2 year old kept getting up from his chair, my 5 year old kept getting up from his chair. The service there was so great, nobody seemed to mind. We were in the corner by the bathrooms, so they weren't disturbing other patrons. My 2 year old will not sit in a highchair, so, we can't just strap him in anymore.

We've also have done:
Rainforest Cafe/Downtown Disney-Kids liked it/Good food
ESPN Zone
All Star Cafe
House of Blues
Planet Hollywood
Restaurantosaurus-Donalds Breakfast is great/2 year old was crying the entire time
Pizzafari
Flame Tree BBQ
Toy Story Pizza Planet
Hollywood and Vine-Lunch time is better/no charachters at dinner
50's Prime Time Cafe
Crystal Palace-Kids loved Pooh charachters/food was good
Pecos Bills-great burgers!
Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe
Big River Grille and Brewing Works-We sat outside on Boardwalk, it was nice, kids had fun, alot of stuff to watch.

Grand Floridian Tea--- no

Kona Cafe-- shouldn't be any problem
Breakfastasaurus--- as long as your toddler isn't scared of the characters, it should be fine
Pizzafari--- no problem, basically this is indoor counter service
Tusker house--- see above
Boma--- this restaurant is kind of loud, so as long as you toddler isn't spooked by noise, you should be ok
Columbia Harbor house--- indoor counter service, no problem
Teppenaki--- would probably be intrigued with watching the chefs prepare the meal
Grand Floridian Cafe--- shouldn't have a problem
Sci-Fi Dine in--- should be ok
Rainforest Cafe--- I wouldn't, and here is why... many get very frightened by the thunder storms, and loud animal noises. These animatronics are extremely lifelike
ESPN Club--- shouldn't be a problem on the non smoking side
Plaza Resturant--- no problem, and you can eat outside
Prime time cafe--- shouldn't be any problem
Whispering Canyon--- may enjoy the horse races, but if yours gets irritable when they are riled up, you may not want to do this at dinner.
Ohana--- just order from the kids menu from Kona Cafe... not much on their menu to appeal to kids
San Angle Inn--- should be fine, and soothing. If you can get a table close to watching the boats, even better

I have a 3 year old who's making his 5th trip to WDW next month and a 15 month old who's making his 3rd trip. :) We take them everywhere, they are really good in restaurants. :)

We are about to have our 7th trip with our son (3 year old) and start him at 6 months and we never didn't go to a restaurant without him, This trip we will do the Chef's Table at V&A alone as my mother is going along and wanted him to herself for a night! YES!

But, he has eaten at Jiko, Sppodles, Chefs (numerous times - loves it), ESPN Club, Tuskers, LTT, Cosmic Rays', RFC, Casey's Corner, Le Cellier, H&V, Brown Derby, Boma (he like it a lot great variety), Coral Reef, Park Faire just to name a few. We eat at as many different places as we can aand always take him along. I never had a problem with him anywhere. If he got cranky, we took him oujt for a breath of fresh air in order not to disturb others meals (just being polite).

Go and enjoy all of the food inthe world.

Hi, we have taken our children to Kona, tusker house, rainforest cafe, plaza and o'hana on your list. They are 4 and 1 now and have gone to these restaurants starting at 2 and 6 months. we took our dd when she was two for her first trip. Rainforest kinda scared her because of the thunder.

we have eaten at many different restaurants with them without trouble. Have a great time!!

Here's where we've gone from your lists (3 young kids have gone at all ages):
Tusker House: Great with kids because it is counter service
San Angel: We were not especially crazy about this place. Too dark & kids didn't like not being able to see their food.
Whispering Canyon: Kids loved this meal
Rainforest Cafe: My kids love this restaurant but I have to say it seems so great out of Orlando but it seemed pretty tame at AK in comparison to everything else "Disney" around us.
Artist Point: We got take out once the kids were asleep

Good luck & remember that there will be tons of kids at almost every restaurant.

We have taken our dd just about everywhere in WDW at 3 and 4.

We don't eat at the really fancy places (artist point, california grill etc etc) because they just aren't us anyway.

From your list - Columbia Harbour House is a counter service, but very good - it's nice and quiet upstairs, plenty of room to move around etc - we eat here a lot.

Tappenyaki - we took my dd this year, age 4, and she really enjoyed it. She had a kids meal, and it was cooked on the table in front of her, she thought that was neat.

Rainforest Cafe - She was terrified, and hid on my knee most of the meal.

Everywhere else would be fine.

The only place I have eaten, without my dd was Jiko, and I was quite glad she was in the kids club at AKL, and not with us.
Not because kids weren't welcome, but because we were able to relax and really enjoy the meal as a couple, and when you are spending that kind of money, it's nice to enjoy it and not spend the entire meal trying to get your kid to eat 'just one more chicken nugget, and a bit of carrots please'

Bev

Yes to most, and the one thing I seem to find consistant at Disney resturants is that they are used to kids.

We go out to eat often, and many times I have to remove things from the table that the waiter or waitress puts directly in front of my baby. Knives and glass dishes and toothpicks etc.....Most of the time they are just not used to kids and don't realize what they are doing.

I have never found this to be the case at Disney though. There have been plenty of times my kids have been cranky and difficult at meal times, but the service we have received at WDW has been exceptional.

Hope you have a great time.

Sam

I think if your toddler is fine in restaurants at home, they'll do fine at Disney too. Probably even more so b/c WDW is filled with children and the restaurants are very used to serving them.

We've been with 14 month old DD:

O'hana
Grand Floridian Cafe
Whispering Canyon
Artist Point
Spoodles
Cinderella's
Rain Forest Cafe
Alfredo's

Planning in Nov. so far includes: DD just turned two

Cinderella's
Hollywood Brown Derby
Tony's Town Square
Coral Reef
Pizzafari
Olivia's
Fulton's

Have fun!!
