Have you ever stayed in a 2 BR suite at PPH or DLH? How was it?

I was pricing out 2 br suites for next Xmas - yes, that's right 2015, I think I may be ill in the head - they seem to be just a couple hundred more than reserving 2 separate rooms which is what we usually do at DL.

We always ask for, and always get because our DS10 is in the other room with grammy, 2 connecting rooms that make it feel like a 2 room suite.

If we bumped up to a 2 br suite, would it be all that different? The glossy wide angle photos on the DL website make it seem like you could land an aircraft in the living room of those suites!

It's also very vague as to the locations of the suites. We usually pay the difference and get a better view room (premiere at PPH, deluxe at DLH), just worried we'll pay all that extra per night and have a lovely view of someone's winnebago out our picturesque living room window! :rotfl:

Have you stayed there? How was it? Did you say, out loud, "MAN this two bedroom suite is AWESOME and I can't wait to stay here again!!":thumbsup2

We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 years ago, 2 families (8 people), at the PPH. We were on the upper floors, 12 I think, facing DCA. It was AWESOME!!

With that many people, it was SO much better having a large couch to sit on, and a full size table to eat at. The fridge was twice the size. If I remember correctly, we had 3 bathrooms -- a regular one off each bedroom and a bathroom with a shower stall (no tub) off the main room. That REAALY helped in the mornings.

I always pack a full size coffee maker (we are coffee snobs) and a toaster. We made all our breakfasts in the room. There was room to move around, be comfortable, and not trip on anyone's luggage trying to get to the fridge. We definitely will do that again if we travel with another family.

YES!!!! We stay in them at DLH. It is two rooms with a connecting middle front room about the same size as the standard rooms. So you basically are getting three rooms. The middle section has a third half bath. We travel with my parents and children also and this is the way to go. Because we add club level, it actually ends up cheaper than two club level rooms. The extra room is just so nice. You have your privacy but togetherness all at the same time. This year my sons are bringing their girlfriends and we will use the middle section for the girls which saved us from needing three rooms. There will be nine of us -- all over 17 and I think we will have more than enough room. I'm not sure what pictures you are referring to, but the ones I have seen on line are exactly what the room is like.

I also hate that they won't let you pick or guarantee where your suite is located, but honestly, in 10 stays, we have never had a bad view or locations. Of course there are some I like better than others but they are always wonderful!!We are going this year for Christmas/New Years also and are excited to see DL at Christmas time:santa: -- we have always gone during summer so this will be fun. We have many fond memories and experiences at this hotel because these rooms have made our trip so comfortable and homey. We have plenty of room to play cards or games after a busy day at the park and if some don't want to they can escape to a quite area also. There is also plenty of room to park two ECV out of the way with no problems. I also like that if you order room service you have a table area perfect for a family dinner.

I would advise if you think you want to do this to reserve your suite early in the year. I called in May this year (I think) and we had a hard time getting what I wanted -- they actually had to get with a lead because of some conflict and call us back 4 hours later -- but they made it work.

Now is it pricey -- yes, but like you said no more than two rooms would be. I know the critics will say you could stay for a month off site for that price, but it's what we love.pixiedust:

Sometimes I actually wish we had never done this because now I am so spoiled that that is the only way I want to go.

Thanks For that info! We are staying at the PPH for the first time in October, but I have a feeling we're going to like it. We had an ADR for SU in August and I hate to admit it was the first time we'd ever set foot in the PPH! We loved the lobby and just the general feel of it, so fingers crossed!

I love the idea of a full size table too, I'm so used to piling everything on the sofa or the business desk, and a bigger fridge? AND 3 bathrooms? Nice!

Thanks for the advice, especially about the early booking. Honestly, I wasn't even 100% aware that there were 1 and 2 bedroom suites because every time we've booked in the past they weren't even an option because they were already sold out.

Glad to hear about the nice views, it's not a deal breaker but it definitely adds to the experience for us.

As far as price, we just stayed at the GCH With 2 rooms and I think it was more expensive for that than it was for the 2 bedroom suite at DLH, so it will actually save us money! Grammy usually pays for her room, so even though it's expensive, we only have to pay for our room.

We've stayed offsite, but it's not even close to the same for us. We really love the full disney immersion, and we are those crazy people who would rather take less trips and stay on property than take more trips and stay offsite.

You are planning far enough in advance to consider renting points for a 2-bedroom villa at the Grand Californian (VGC) :goodvibes
