Have you ever shown up on the totally wrong DAY for an event?

I read in the paper that DH friend's father died. I told DH that the viewing was on the next day. So DH went before going to work (2nd shift). He walked in, went up to the casket to pay his respects. He was looking at the person and thinking that he really didn't look like him. So he turns around and sees the family and it was no one he knew. He said that he was sorry but he was in the wrong place. Turns out that I sent DH a day early.

I have never shown up on the wrong day, but I did make a huge mistake on timing once. One of my best friends got married several years ago. I thought her wedding was at 3:30 so I arrived around 3:15. Turns out it was at 3:00! I went into the church and tried to push open the doors to the sanctuary but they wouldn't budge. So, I gave them a really hard shove. Turns out the lady taping the event was leaning against them! I knocked her down...and EVERYONE turned to stare at me! The worst part for me was that I was originally supposed to be the Maid of Honor but backed out b/c I didn't want people watching me walk down the aisle (I have long outgrown that fear btw) and instead everyone saw me knock down the camera woman! To this day, whenever my friend watches that tape you can see when the camera loses focus and hits the floor! Hey, everyone has to make an entrance somehow...

This year we had a halloween party on Saturday, the 30th. Of course, we had to have a Pre-halloween decorating party on Friday where a few of our closest friends came over to help decorate. Next thing I know, our neighbor and her 6yo son walk into our garage dressed in costume with a bottle of wine and snacks! She saw all of the cars at our house and thought the party was that night. I felt embarassed for her!!
