Have you ever requested a certain waiter at a restaurant?

We plan to eat at 50's PTC in August. Last summer, Topher was our waiter and he was a ton of fun. We would love to see him again. I doubt if they take this request when I make our PS, but should I ask when we get to the restaurant? Just wonder if anyone one else has done this?

I have made requests for servers that I really like and this request has always been granted. I make this request when I make my PS and then again as a little reminder when checking in at the podium. Unfortunately, Lee our favorite server at the CG has left. When he was at the CG we told him how great he was and he was the one who said that folks request certain servers all the time. Good luck!

Absolutely!

Neil at Donald's, wouldn't have it any other way.

Ryan at the CG.

Ron or Shelly at Jiko.

Aicha at Citrico.

We always ask for our favorites when we arrive and, if they are working, our request has been granted.

Neil at Donald's Breakfastosaurous is great! I always request him. I also request Tony T. at Coral Reef, Aunt Cindy at Prime Time, and a few others. There have also been times when I haven't requested a particular server but gotten one that I have had before who remembered me. Now that is amazing!

I would suggest giving the podium a little more time then upon check in. Call the night before, or during the day. I know that sometimes CRO does not like to take this request in advance since they are removed from the restaurant, but the podium staff will accept it and it also gives the assignor the opportunity to pre-plan for your arrival, they may elect to hold a table, or at least they are aware that you are coming and are requesting a specific server. But please, if there are any changes in your plans, call the podium and tell them if your are running late or if you have to cancel, its only fair to the server.

We too ask for a favorite server at the podium and, with all due respect, Mike, will continue to do so.

As Uncleromulus stated, if the server is working, the restaurants do a great job of honoring the request.

To call the restaurant directly is not always that easy for tourists. In addition , if unexpected delays arise, the server is not left with an empty table.

Taximom,
We always request Kevin at Mama Melrose's........we ask when we make our PS and then we usually stop at the restaurant early in our day at MGM just to make sure. We have always been able to "get our man."::yes::

We love Fonze at Nine Dragons in Epcot. We were there in March and asked for him. It was so much fun to see him again. We are returning in November and will certainly ask again.

That's fine, just remember that one night you may hear "I'm sorry, we just sat "Bob" and he may not have another table for about 1-hour, do you care to wait for him?"

The seating staff works a template and usually on a rotation, to keep each server equally balanced and to maintain a level of service that every guest deserves. "Your" server may be strapped with a large party, or "his" station may be already filled, without any advanced notice the podium and seating assignor may not be able to fill your request on short notice, or without adding a wait to your seating. All I am saying is "better safe than sorry"

Yup, I realize this. We have no problem being told it's not possible or that there will be a wait. It is just a request.

I so agree with Kevin at MM and Dori who works there too. Both are friendly, thoughtful and efficient.

Here's a great Kevin story. My family and I first ate at MM about 6 years ago. We were hesitant because our youngest DS,10 at that time,is allergic to tomatoes! That's right.......tomatoes! Anyway,Kevin made a big fuss over him and had dishes made special for him, with garlic and oil and cream sauces etc. Two years later we went back and of course requested Kevin as our server. Unbelievably, he remembered our names and even remembered the sodas my kids drank(one coke, one orange)! The guy is amazing! Anyway,we've been to MM every year since and promised him that even on the rare chance that we did not have time to eat there, we would always stop in to say hello! Fortunately for us, we ALWAYS have time to eat there. See ya' soon Kev! 27 days and counting :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

If we have a favorite server, we always ask at the podium. Deb at the Kona Cafe, Denise at LeCellier, Debbie at Narcoossee's, Gregory at Fulton's. More often than not, if our server is working, our requests have been granted.
