Have you ever reported anybody?

I was curious to see if anyone has ever needed to use the Report button.

I have.

I was surfing the Guest Rooms, when I came across a room with the title,
"Red Light District". The room owner had "Mom" somewhere in her name,
which I thought was really strange, thinking that if she's a mom, she should
know better than to name that room!

So I hit the report button to say I found the room name inappropriate.

I don't report anyone lightly, but I couldn't ignore that.
Anyone else feel strongly enough to report someone?

I once came across two kids fighting- yeah silly as it looked (and I actually laughed at first) they were saying "-hit" or "-kick" etc and then they started saying other things- dancing around the dictionary so to speak to say bad words and ugly things...

They were on Main street or some other similar area so I reported it- and got back the "click ignore" response-

So now I just go about my business and ignore it all a lot of times.

But there have been times I should have reported others- but I really didn't see it as much getting done.

I have reported people several times. Mostly reported children for giving out their age or location in profile

"Red Light District" ... "Mom"

"Madame" isn't in the dictionary ... ;)

But seriously, I did report a boy once when he kept on referring to this girl as a "beach". But then I crashed, so I don't know what happened ...

Red Light District? Wow. That's sad. I haven't reported any innappropriate room names, yet...I have reported a few "dictionary dancers", though. Mostly, they were calling others names and being obnoxious. I have seen 1 actually disappear from the room! :) Don't know if the Big White Glove removed them, but I like to think so! ;)

I reported a girl who was asking a crowd outside of the JC if anyone wanted to have glove in her back seat :earseek: I got the ignore message which seemed insane to me as they are all over everyone else for side-stepping the dictionary. Guess it is okay when kids do it to be up to no good :confused3

Yes I have and have had a variety of responses...once reported some kids/adults? for using foul language and got that ignore them.

Others times I have reported I beleive they either got the boot or got a warning from staff.

They do not seem to be consistent in their response.

Just a thought, and I don't know if it will help or not. When you do report someone in the game, tell them that you have already placed the person on ignore and you are letting other players know they can do the same, but you just wanted to make staff aware of the problem. Also, I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that nothing happened to the player just because they didn't disappear from screen right away. I still think we should report when we feel strongly about something, and just feel confident that you are doing the right thing, even when the VMK response doesn't seem like what we wanted.

I reported a fight in my maze entrance room back in September. First I called a CL friend to see if he could "talk them down" and when that didn't work, I reported. I don't know what happened but I have never run across those players again.

I've reported individuals (kids?) many times. As a mom of 3 kids (2 of which play VMK a lot), I feel I need to do my part to "clean up" the kingdom. :) My boys call me the "VMK police". Basically, if I see someone say something that I wouldn't want any of my children reading, I report. Even with the limited dictionary, these kids can come up with some pretty lewd and obscene things to say to each other....

Do you find they come back to you with the "put them on ignore" comment? It seems that a lot of people get that back, when what they really should say is "thank you for reporting, and we will look into it - for now put them on ignore". They may or may not be looking into the problem, but if they just tell you to ignore them, that is just pretending the problem doesn't exist and doesn't sit right with me.

I have never reported someone, but will threaten to do so if someone needs to be told to smarten up. If I do actually report someone, I would hope that vmk would take it seriously. We don't need 5 year olds learning how to swear around the dictionary.

I reported a girl pretending to have a baby on Main Street then I reported a couple having a fight with their "babies" and the "mummy" was going to use a knife on the "da da"! And I don't find "ya gr" offensive... :drinking1

My 12 year old dd reported someone who called my 6 year old ds a "beach" and a "fog" for refusing to be "taken." They also received a message that it was being looked into. Then it took me several days to get across to ds why he could not call people beach. I finally had to tell him what it stood for.

They have the vmk values that state against all of these things we report. They have the report button there and ask us to report players when they disobey the values, yet, it seems to me they want us to "ignore" the rude behavior so that they too may ignore the player. Weren't we all taught in school at one point to step up and not just be another spectator at the "show"? Didn't they always tell us that if we see bad and can do something to help make it better, make it better? I don't know, but it seems to me that unless it discomforts them "such as Impersonating staff" it can disregarded. That unless it is something against all high and mighty staff, it can just be ignored. That to me is not the Disney spirit. Some people on vmk are rude and "put down" other players with "dancing around the dictionary" to use words that sound bad, as well as actions that are inappropriate for a "family friendly" environment. I don't agree with their actions by sending people the "use the ignore button" because that tells me that vmk does not care about what offends other players.

I report people all the time. Any time I see someone being mean and using swears I report. If I see inappropriate behavior I report. I have seen someone say they were staff in their signature I reported them.

It takes all of us to keep things safe and the kids need to learn that certian talk is not tolerated no matter how creatively they disguise the words.

i report all the time. i go to rooms with " find your match or have a kid" and tell them to stop and if they don't i report and vmk clears the room. and when some girl said she was having a baby in yavn's or alyuel's room. they said ignore OF COURSE SO TIPICALL. well i report ppl and im trying to make vmk a good place for ppl

I had to report someone a while ago. I went into VMK central and a guy was saying to a girl would you like me to stick it up your but! The he said he was slapping her but. Totally inappropriate and I hope something was done about it. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again as there are many young players on VMK and it really isn't right that they should she things like that.

I normally mind my own business but one day I was in a guest room and one kid started saying that he (or she) wanted to die. At first I didn't think anything of it but then he (or she) was talking about the ways they wanted to die. So I felt that was extremely inappropriate and reported that person. I have no idea what became of the situation.

i had my DD report a girl. She was in my daughters guest room and was trying to pick a fight. i went in to see what was going on and i had typed in, i wasn't going to fight and if she wanted to she could go fight somewhere else. she just kept it up. so i had my dd report her, but we never saw anyone . and eventually after 10 minutes of the girl trying to get my dd to fight with her she left.
does the vmk staff ever show up when you report someone?

I reported a girl once because she was being really rude to other kids. It was before I was a CL, and she wasn't interested when I said she should really be nice. The second time I ran into her (and she was still yelling at everyone and calling them names) a few minutes later, I reported. I have no idea what happened.
