Have you ever planned a trip to DL by yourself?

I'm sensing two trends in this thread-- one group of people who love going solo because they want to be able to do what they want when they want, and another group who goes solo simply because they don't have anyone to go with. I wonder if something like an 'official single traveler thread' might be a good idea for that latter group? People who love DL so much that they're willing to go there alone could get in contact with each other and possibly have a great time!

when are you wanting to go 303? Halloween time would be good cause you could also do the party and tons of us Disers will be going to that. Also, christmas time would be good too:)

I do not really have a particular time yet but am thinking about making this a reality sooner rather than later.

There are mentions are "singles" threads on here, as well as info for people who travel solo. Any info on that would be great.

Keep looking for a girl who might like Disneyland too. There really are a lot out there. I work in special education, and in my classroom alone we have 3 aides that are beautiful girls (inside and out) that are in their mid/late 20s and love Disneyland. We talk about it all the time! I find that lots of women that are in the field of education are Disney fans, so maybe look for that.

It actually can be a great thing to find someone like that if you really like Disney--because it can become a lifelong hobby that you can share. Those kinds of things help along a marriage and build connections.

ah yes and I have proof of this...my best friend is a HUGE disneyland dork just like me and we used to go every couple of months...welllllll...she started going on the singles thread for wdw and one thing led to another and she met a guy on there whos a big wdw geek and fast forward 4 years...they are married and live about 15/20 min from the wdw parks:cloud9: ♥ ♥ ♥

I didn't do a solo trip but did end up going with people that were hung over every single day! So, I would go in the morning and meet up with them in the afternoon. I had a blast by myself!

I can't wait for a trip report from you when you do take a solo trip.

Its not my goal to find someone I can date, but just other singles that are going to the park sometime. Where are these singles DLR threads?

I enjoy going to DLR with family and friends, but I often go by myself and enjoy that as well. When I'm with others we're usually rushing from ride to ride and talking the whole time. When I'm solo I have time to move at my own pace and really sit back and take everything in. There are special moments happening all around and I notice them a lot more when I'm solo.

A few tips:
Eat meals at restaurants with entertainment like French Market or the ones in Paradise Pier. With lively music playing, the lack of conversation won't be as noticeable to yourself or others.

Strike up conversation with others in the single rider line. People in other lines can be friendly too and sometimes they don't mind chit chatting. Talking to new people is something I like about going solo that I don't do when I'm with friends. It's always fun to hear where people are from and what they're enjoying at DLR.

Don't be afraid to do all of those things that it seems you should only do if you have kids or are with friends like wear Mickey ears, take pictures with characters and at photo pass spots, etc. It's Disneyland! Everyone is entitled to experience the joy of being there!

Have fun and good luck finding a fellow Disneyland enthusiast!

I'm actually planning a trip right now. My situation is kind of the same as yours, sort of.

I'm 29, single... Most of my friends are in relationships and won't spend the time away from their boyfriends. There isn't really much family I'd go with, except my mom but because of certain circumstances, she's not going. So, I'm off by myself.

I have a Pre-Trip report for myself going on. It's in my signature if you want to check it out. I'll post a trip report when I come back. I leave September 26th for LA, so it's not too far off.

I've never been to Disneyland before though, just WDW. My last trip to WDW I went solo and it was the best thing I ever did. I was never lonely and I got a lot of praise for going by myself. I even got "adopted" by a family that was staying in the same hotel with me. Their 5 year old got attached to me on a bus ride one morning. So I spent some time with them. I also gave them some tips I knew.

Ummm, I actually live in Northern Colorado and am a total Disney nut....maybe we could meet! It would be nice to have a pal to go to Disneyland with! Have you ever been to Walt Disney World?!

Its nice to know there are others of us that feel the same way! Wish I could have found out about it sooner! PM me would love to get to know you and hear about your trip

Never been to Disneyworld, heard it is awesome though. Are you going to school at UNC since Hawaii and UNC are sister schools? That's where I went.

Going on your own is a great experience! It's interesting to find out how you would spend your own time....what you want to see and do. I usually just enjoy the atmosphere, maybe do a ride or two, sip a coffee and people watch. I also find I strike up more conversations and really enjoy little chats with CMs and guests who love Disney.

Trying to rub those pennies together, see if I can make something work.
