Have you ever lost your coupons?

I'm not an extreme couponer by any means, but I keep a small binder and clip from the Sunday paper. I usually save about $5-$10 on groceries per week with my coupons.

Well, a few days ago I LOST my coupons. I must have left them at the checkout register at Publix, but when I called the next day, they hadn't found them.

That thing was FULL of good coupons, too, (several freebies at Kroger, lots of sunscreen, which I need to buy soon) and now I have to start ALL. OVER. again.

What a bummer! :sad2:

Not until the other day when I left my entire purse at Mcdonald's and didn't realize it for a couple hours after taking a nap and wanting to go out again.

Lucikly a person found it and turned it in with nothing taken out.

Not lost exactly, but I threw them out on accident once. I went through my stash and took out all the ones that had expired. However, instead of throwing away the expired ones, I threw away all the ones that were still good and put the expired ones back in. I didn't realize it until the next week when I went to get coupons from my stash. Definitely a *face palm* moment, but what can you do?:upsidedow

I threw my binder out by accident when i threw out the cut up papers from the coupons .I was upset since it was much work but went out and bought a new binder and decorated it . Good luck .

I've done it numerous times...and then I start over. sigh;)

Definitely not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but it's just been one of those weeks, you know?

Ah well!

My DH left the box of coupons in the cart at Target. I Searched the store when I figured out they were gone. Checked lost and found a week later and they were all there. Missed out on some great deals because some of the coupons expired that week:(

My local store is having a triple coupon event this week.... when they do this, I pull out all the coupons I plan on using.. all things that are free or cheap. I went the other night... was exhausted! Messed up on one of my "deals" and my bill was like $8 over what I thought it should be. So, my mind was preocupied with that plus being tired..... I loaded my bags in my car and went home. Late (like midnight) that night, I had a thought that I didnt put my coupon book in my car.... thought, oh well, maybe I did.... left to go to the store that next morning, and sure enough.. not there! I had left them in the cart! Luckily, they were there behind the counter!

I left my coupon pouch in a basket once. Luckily for me someone turned it in and I got it all back. Since then I've put my name and address on the inside on the flap. Don't know if it will do any good but at least if I have another "moment" there is a possibility someone will try to contact me when they find it.

ayup and it was never found.

Ya just start over, as was said above. It really IS kinda minor in the grand scheme of stuff that COULD go wrong in yer life.

I used to do a lot of couponing and had a plastic boxful. I left it in the child seat of a grocery cart once. When I got home and realized it was missing, I called the store. It was at the customer service desk.

"Lost" as in "having the entire file box of coupons 'disappear' from my cart" while I was shopping? Yup.

Ugh. That would have irritated me! I almost would have felt like standing at the exit to see if I could find it!! I wouldn't have bothered to do that, but it was a though!! sigh.

Yup. I use a small coupon holder for mine and I think I dropped it in the parking lot of Publix after loading my groceries in the car.

I never did find it. I don't have tons and tons of coupons but it was a pain to find a new coupon holder again. Hardly anyone carries them anymore.

DH lost our first coupon box, which had all sorts of "no expiration date" coupons in it. He went shopping late at night and left it in the cart after putting the groceries in the trunk. It was dark but that was the best organizer we ever had.

We restarted and I lost the second-generation replacement box. It wasn't a big loss since it was over the summer, when there are fewer coupons anyway.

I have left my coupon organizer behind at least six or seven times. It's because the stores have baggers, so I have to give them the bags/cart to use. I put down the organizer to pay the cashier, then walk out without the organizer. I've been lucky to get it back; doesn't hurt that I put a "PLEASE RETURN TO CUSTOMER (name) (phone)" label on it. No one ever calls, but I guess it gets enough attention to be turned in at Customer Service.

Not a story about coupons lost, but my folks live in a state with money back on drink bottles. They used to save them up until there was quite a pile. It was Christmas and the extended family was visiting, so the pile was huge. I should mention, Dad was getting clumsy and forgetful, and mom was very frustrated with him.

My DH and Dad went to the grocery store, and there must have been at least 4 carts of bottles to turn in. Dad got a receipt to take to the cashier at check-out. They shopped for some items, then checked-out. Darned if Dad hadn't lost the receipt for the bottles! No one told mom because we knew she would blow her top. Finally, years after Dad passed away, we told mom. She laughed, and so did we. :grouphug:
