Have you ever forgotten where you parked at any of the Disney Parks? I went to the MK today and I was "positive" I parked in "goofy" 49. I remeber after I pakred I looked over and saw the Goofy sign and I looked down and saw isle 49. And after boarding the tram to the MK the CM on the tram who makes the annoucement and says where we parked said it was Goofy isle 49 -..whatever. Fastforward to when I am return to the parking lot after a long day at the mk, I am dropped of by the tram at Goofy and proceed to the area where I "thought" I parked. Hmmm not goofy 49, maybe it was goofy 48..nope, not there either! Ok maybe Aisle 47 and 46. NOPE!! Ok by now i am hot and tired , thristy, sunburned and frustrated. But i continue looking walking up and down the long aisles. I am even using my keyfob remote for my vehicle alarm trying too hear the horn off in the distance, but no luck. So after wandering around the large and desolate parking lot at 7 pm for what is nearing 30 mins i walk back to a tram I see pulling up and tell the CM at the back of the tram I cannot find my vehicle. So the CM on the tram teklls the tram driver to wait becasue he is helping me. He says for me to flag down a security van for help. OK, so tram starts to leave, i start to walk away and CM sees security van and holds up the tram again and flags the security van to help me. I was almost in tears by this point, All i wanted to do was go home.( I have an hour drive on I-4) So the security guy gives the tram guy a map of the parking lot with the times when they parked certain areas..which i thought was cool. He asked me approx. what time did i park and he looked on the map and said,d well if you parked at such and such a time, you would have parked here. I said, thanks and went back to look for my car. And gues what..I totally was wrong on the time I told the Cm I arrived, I said I arrived around 11:30 but i forgot, that I actually arived around 1.00 so here I go, searching for my car once again, this time, totally near tears..So I decided to to search in the opposite direction. And i finally spotted my vehicle in PLUTO!!! I was never so happy to see my car in my life lol So after over 30 mins searching for my vehicle, i finally found it.
I lost my vehicle once before in Epcot, spend 20 mins before i found it, Then another time at Disneyland, when they still had the parking lot, walked around for 25 mins at 9 pm looking for my darned car lol UGH!

Yes, we did have one unfortunate incident when we lost the car (though not at WDW, but at Universal). Oh yes, we were sure we knew exactly where we parked it, but apparently one of the the parking lot attendents moved it while we were in the park :rotfl2: Every since then I always write it down.

Yes I have done this once and only once... I learned a valuable lesson that night.....

If I move my car at all from ASMO, other than to valet, I will be writing it down twice. Once for my bag, once for DH's. We are notorious for losing our car at concerts and malls :rolleyes1 much less the black hole that is the MK parking lot! :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

My first trip to WDW, in 1986, I was 5 years old...

We got off at the stop my father insisted we were parked at. We walked around for over a half hour before my brother, sister, mom, and I sat and waited while my dad kept looking.

What didn't help matters was that no one could remember what color the rental car was!

That's a great memory, because even at the time it was funny, and I just remember being so tired and complaining (of course!)

While working my internship, my friend Charlee and I spent a day at DTD. When we left, it was dark out and we coudn't remember where she'd parked her car. We ended up wandering around that parking lot for at least half an hour with our cell phones, "See it yet?" "No, not yet" Considering that my phone was from NC and hers was from Colorado, we racked up quite a bit of roaming charges.

I havent done it at Disney but I have done it at college. I would park on one side of the campus to eat and then I would hang out with people and walk back. The next day I would attempt to go to my car for some reason and I would walk around the parking lot at my apartment for my car. Then I would have to walk 10 minutes across campus to get my car and drive it back.

This is the reason I drive a bright yellow pickup truck.

Sit my butt on the tram, and look over the top of the silver rental cars - ooh! I see yellow!

Sometimes for comic releif later at night when EVERYONE and their brother are hitting their panic buttons to find their car, I'll set mine off too and hold my hands to my eyes like im searching.... usually i get a good laugh from other folks.

GalDisney, thanks for posting this. I especially appreciate that you reported that you were "near tears"! That is the worse feeling! If this ever happens to me (again), I will think of this thread, and try to calm down a bit!

After you park the first thing to do is get someone in your party to stand near the sign for your parking area and take a digital photo of the sign. If you can't find the car, scroll back to your first picture of the day and you'll see where you are parked. Got that tip from delswife.

not at disney but in a walmart superstore car park! we just got out and walked into the store it wasnt until we were at the checkout we realised we hadn't a clue where the car was! it was before electrinic beeps and al hire cars were the same make and colour- it took us about 20 mins to find it :guilty:

Yes Susan, those Walmart car parks are a nightmare for finding hire cars! Have had problems there, and the malls too!

We haven't had a problem at Disney, but the Universal car parks are another thing and you can forget which floor you are on as well as the 'title'! Wandered around a couple of floors before finding our car!

hi
i suppose we ought to do what those smarty pants do! take picture with their digital camera of the row number and name if in a park

We tend to walk from the parking lots to the parks so we avoid the tram. Then when we are half way there we wonder what aisle we are in. So going back can be a little interesting at times but we are usually within a row of our car.

I have lost a rental car....because I forgot what it looked like, and what make it was. I knew where I had parked it, but when I got there, I was not sure which car it was. I just tried the key in several doors until it opened one!

Oh, lordy, yes. Many times. The worst was the day we sent DD back to the room with a tummy ache. She's the only one with any kind of memory or observation skills at all. DS and I wandered around the MGM lot for nearly an hour, in July too. It doesn't help that we have a beige Toyota Camry, probably one of the most common cars there is! Next car is going to be candy apple red.

We "lost" our car at AK a couple of years back... I remembered an aisle number that didn't actually exist! I ran back to the tram and asked the CM on the back where the ailse was and he smiled at me and said there isn't one with that number! Luckily we knew what time we arrived and he told me which number to head to... everyone on the tram was laughing and I was

Then last trip we went over to Epcot in the evening, parked the car, saw the tram and ran diagonally across the lanes to jump on.

I said to DH what row were we in? He said I don't know I thought you looked... oops...

When we got back to the car park after closing we spent 30 minutes in the freezing cold trying to find the stupid rental :rotfl:

Because our dig. camera is always stashed away in a bag as we run towards the tram, we used our picture phones last year. DH still refuses to erase the picture of the last place we parked the car.

We took our first trip jan 06. dh me and ds6 and dd4. For the first few days we would be so excited to get to the park we would not even look at where we parked then get on the tram and scramble as it was leaving to figure out where the car is so we could find it again. We did ok at finding it again but did do the dazed and confused parking lot walk a few times. Around day 6 as we parked my dh says now we have to look at where we are parked today. So we all check it out and are in dopey can't remember the number. We board the tram and ds yells out (on a packed tram) "we are dopey we are dopey" :rotfl:
