Have you ever lived in an unlucky home?

DH & I have put our house on the market this week. When we bought it 2 years ago it was our ultimate dream home and we imagined being there a long time. Sadly it has never lived up to our expectations and we seem to have been dogged by bad luck since we moved in from my DMIL passing away just a week before we moved to both DH an myself having really bad times at work. Our neighbours are an absolute nightmare the man is very agressive and they seem to allow loads of their teenage childrens friends to use their house as a youth club so we are treated to drunken antics most weekends and boy racers coming and going at all hours (believe it or not we actually live in a 'very desirable' area ) We have had words with them on a couple of occasions and managed to stay calm but it is only a matter of time before a big argument kicks off and I am constantly on edge so we have decided to go. The funny thing is I'm not that sad in fact it's quite a relief. Has anybody else had a home they have felt has been unlucky for them?

Our house north of York was horrible. In fact the only good things that came out of the four years living there were my youngest son and the career boost I got from working for a big company.

It wasn't the house that was "unlucky" though, it was more the fact that we weren't from Yorkshire. We were outsiders, weren't related and didn't goto school with any of them. It also didn't help that we didn't speak as if we'd come off ut'moors bar tat ecky thump. My wife joined the school PTFA to try and make friends and found that ALL the other members were also in the same boat! None of the PTFA came from Yorkshire; they were all outsiders who had moved to the area and were trying to make friends because their neighbours were, for want of a better term, insular.

When it came to moving we weren't in the least bit sad to leave York for Derbyshire and don't miss it at all.
