Have you ever lived alone for a while?

I am weird like that. I do not want to live alone, but I LOVE being home alone. I really do not understand why I am like that. I guess I like the feeling of security in knowing I am not truly alone, but want the independence being alone.

In my 52 years, I am estimating that I have only spent 3 of them actually living alone. I do not think I would ever want to live alone again because I know how I am.

not weird at all. Totally get that.

The last time I had a roommate was 2011 in grad school. I'm ok living with others but do much better alone. Now it's been so long I think it would be hard to adjust to having someone else here - I have my own space and routine. It's a relief to come home to a quiet place and not have to interact anymore unless I choose to. I've got lots of good friends and see them/family at just about the right amount for me (but then I need much less social interaction I think than most people).

Never. Kind of wish I had when I was single. Went from parents to roommate to boyfriend who is now husband.

I lived alone in an apt for about 4 years after college/before marrying my ex. I was never scared but did run around a lot with friends because I didn't like sitting at home for hours after work alone. Throughout our marriage he or I traveled for work for a week to weeks at a time so I did have some great alone time. When DS came along I was alone with him a lot but I guess that doesn't count as alone, even when he was an infant. Once you have kids, until they move out you are never truly alone!

Now I am never alone and I really wish I had more time in the house by myself. My husband works from home and is there when I leave and there when I get back bc I work 10-12 hour days. The most time I get is on weekends when he runs to the store or takes the dog for a walk and I choose not to go. I could use a good week in my house with no one to answer to!

Yes, for about 6 years, not conservative. It was nice. There are days I miss it.

I had a solo dorm room for a year or so at college. I lived in two apartments on my own when I was younger as well.

I left home at 18 and married at 29. I lived with roommates for some of that time (partly to save money) but I also lived alone for part of it.
