This is inspired by an experience I had last night.

I was forced to go see "Last House on the Left" with m sister, her 2 friends and my BF (my BF & I didnt want to go...long story, we wound up going),I expected it to be a lame psychological thriller, nothing to get excited over. Well, I had to actually LEAVE the movie and go home because it upset me so much. (and I don't mean offended, or bored) There is a scene in that movie that honestly made me feel something I've NEVER felt during a movie before, and thinking that this was going to be a lame psych. thriller I was NOT expecting this degree of realism.
It's a rape scene and it so realistic and raw and brutal that I started BAWLING and had to close my eyes, and actually had to leave and go home.(my BF came wth me and i picked up my sis & her friends when it was over) But I cried the whole way home and even when I got home my BF really had to calm me down.
And I still can't get it out of my head!!

So my question is, have you ever walked out of a movie, for any reason?
Whether it upset you, or offended you, or touched too close to home, or bored you.

And I know probably I sound like a total lameoid chicken sandwich for having to leave the movie, but seriously, it REALLY disturbed me, I dunno if any of you have scene that movie but seriously...like, I'm traumatized.

I've never had to walk out of a movie but I've wanted too at least once. And that was just cause the movie was so stupid. I tend to avoid scary movies.

I was forced to watch 'Sophie's Choice' about a year ago, and that movie made me physically ill. I ended up throwing up, because it was just too much. To this day, I absolutely CANNOT watch that movie without feeling gross.

And you've made my decision very clear that i will NOT be seeing that! It sounds absolutely horrible! How did your sister and her friends like it? Or did they?

Wow, you just saved me $8 from seeing that movie with some friends!
Haha.
That is so horrible. I hope you went home and found a better movie to watch on TV for free.

I was in a situation like that once before.
I might totally get jumped for this, but.. I was close to walking out on Twilight.
::gasp:: I KNOW!!.

It's not that it was dreadful or anything.
I mean.. Stephanie Meyer is a legend for her writing. But the director turned it into some campy five dollar budget romance. I was offended.
I mean, Robert Pattison is most def. something good to look at, but... I just wasn't feeling it.

The Da Vinci Code was waaayyy too boring for me, so I left.
And there's a few horror movies that I've left halfway through because they were either boring, stupid, or just too disgusting.

Ya I really wouldn't really recommend the movie to anyone who is sensitive to that sort of subject matter. I guess it must've been a good movie if it affected my like that. My sister & her friends liked it alright I suppose--I think the rape & torture in the first half is to set you up for the revenge on the villains in the second half--but it was just too much for me.

And I have to be honest, I saw twilight b/c my sister had it on her computer--had I been in a theatre, I may very well have walked out. lol

haha i almost did on The Day The Earth Stood Still. lol is wasnt scary it was just straight up pointless lol. it was stupid

Oh, and the movie Earthlings, I don't think it was ever in theatres, but you can watch it online.
I have never been able to get through it.
It's all about animal abuse and animal cruelty, I'm too sensitive to watch it, I don't know anyone who actually did.
It's so bad that you start to feel physically sick after a while.

I totally agree. I went to see it with my sister and throughout the whole thing I was just like: :headache: .

Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE the books. But the movie was just so...wrong! Where was the feeling?! And the little, stupid, tiny, quirky things that made the whole relationship so darn adorable?!

The whole thing (especially the acting) was just so flat. I was so disappointed. And I would have left, but my little sister was there with me so I had to stay for her. And she still believes that it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. :sad2:

Other than that, I haven't completely walked out of a movie at the theater before. I have covered my face and turned away tho, especially when I went to go watch Mirrors (a horror movie) with one of my friends. On one of the parts, I was seriously like: O__O; and cringed into the chair. IT WAS DISTURBING.

I can say tho, when my parents rented W on On Demand yesterday, I was able to handle maybe about 5-10 minutes of it before I got overly annoyed and walked out. Couldn't stand that movie.

It irked me beyond life.

I walked out of Madeline in elementary school because a character in the movie was throwing up and I had a severe vomit phobia. XD

i haven't had to walk out in a movie but last time there was a preview for a horror movie and i had to hide coz i was terrified

The book was wayyyyyyyy better, movie was pointless and they changed stuff.

I walked out of Seabiscuit because that movie sucked.

Sorry about your experience Caitlin. I heard that scene was pretty bad.

I haven't walked out of the movie theater, but some movies we sit down and watch at home I end up getting up and going to my room because I don't like it.

I forgot that one that Jack Black was in and he was a wrestler. (So stupid IMO)
I almost got up from Beverly Hills Chiuaua last night, but for some reason I stayed. (I didn't think I was going to like it in the first place, I don't recommend it.)

yes!
in one of the best movies ive seen too!

it was when i went to see "I Am Legend"
it got so scary :O (well im a wimp xD)

I heard that movie is a remake of a porno....my homeroom teacher told us that. And I did once but it was because I had to go to the bathroom really bad because of bad food I ate earlier...lol. Not sure if it counts

That movie was hilarious to me(well mostly because of my friends)...it still was a great movie

Not yet! I'm so stingy though I'd probably sit through it or close my eyes or something or just leave for a bit...I wouldn't want to waste my money like that.

i walked out of series of unfortunate events.
i turned off across the universe.
and i buried my head through the rape scene in 28 days later while my boyfriend fast forwarded.

oh yeah, me and my friends were watching 'you dont mess with the zohan' in our church building (its and old cinema so it has a massive screen) and we turned it off because it was pretty inappropriate. then we were like, we were watching that in church :O
