Have you ever had to walk out of a movie?

This is inspired by an experience I had last night.

I was forced to go see "Last House on the Left" with m sister, her 2 friends and my BF (my BF & I didnt want to go...long story, we wound up going),I expected it to be a lame psychological thriller, nothing to get excited over. Well, I had to actually LEAVE the movie and go home because it upset me so much. (and I don't mean offended, or bored) There is a scene in that movie that honestly made me feel something I've NEVER felt during a movie before, and thinking that this was going to be a lame psych. thriller I was NOT expecting this degree of realism.
It's a rape scene and it so realistic and raw and brutal that I started BAWLING and had to close my eyes, and actually had to leave and go home.(my BF came wth me and i picked up my sis & her friends when it was over) But I cried the whole way home and even when I got home my BF really had to calm me down.
And I still can't get it out of my head!!

So my question is, have you ever walked out of a movie, for any reason?
Whether it upset you, or offended you, or touched too close to home, or bored you.

And I know probably I sound like a total lameoid chicken sandwich for having to leave the movie, but seriously, it REALLY disturbed me, I dunno if any of you have scene that movie but seriously...like, I'm traumatized.

Not lame at all. I was in a production of West Side Story this summer, and there's a scene where all the Jets come close to raping Anita. I was playing a Jet (guy, I'm a girl, but playing a guy lol) and it wasn't even close to rape. The first day we rehearsed that scene, I went home crying feeling like I was going to throw up. Idk why it affected me so much... but it was really hard for me. Every night when we performed it, I would just go offstage shaking and just have to sit by myself for a while. Good experience for acting I guess, but it was so hard and not fun at all. The only time I've ever not had fun onstage in my life. So I totally understand.

And those of you who didn't like Across the Universe, it seems like a completely polarizing movie. I, for one, absolutely loved it. I actually watched it tonight... hehe :)

Oh god, I couldn't watch that movie then. Any movie or TV show with a rape scene really just...gets to me? I can't watch that kind of stuff, it's too much.

For some reason last weekend, I tivo'ed Ted Bundy. I had no idea how graphic the movie was going to be. I really have no idea why I recorded it in the first place. I couldn't watch but a few minutes of it. I couldn't shake that feeling I had afterwards.

Thanks Caitlin, I know I won't be watching that movie.

i walked out of series of unfortunate events.
i turned off across the universe.
and i buried my head through the rape scene in 28 days later while my boyfriend fast forwarded.

Across the Universe is horrid. One big terrible acid trip, I turned it off too.

I almost walked out of Atonement.
I stayed in Twilight for the lulz, that movie was godawful.

I can't watch Tru Confessions when it used to be on tv, it makes me bawl like a baby. Like so much.
Ladder 49 does the same thing, but it was such a good movie I couldn't leave.

i forget what it is called it was so bad. it was about some space thing like guide to something... it was SOO boring!

I don't really see movies in theaters, but I really wanted to stop watching "Journey to the Center of the Earth" and "Flags of our Fathers"

Two of the worst movies in my opinion.

I fell asleep watching The Golden Compass.
I didn't walk, or shut it off, but sleeping through it counts too.

I turned off The Golden Compass. I got lost halfway.
And, uh, I fell asleep when I went to see Dinasour (the disney movie) in the cinema. xD

No because I don't go to the movies that often. The last movie I saw in theaters was Slumdog (March 2009), prior to that was The Dark Knight twice (July 2008). Earlier was The Simpsons Movie (Sept. 2007.) Before that was Sydney White in August 2007.

If I hadn't been with a group party at Cinemark with uber comfy chairs, I would've walked out on When a Stranger Calls. My friends teased me because I thought it was insanely scary. I had nightmares for weeks.

I shut off Atonement after the intro. Way too boring.

Nope, never in the theaters.
But I left the room when we watched "The Golden Compass" at my cousin's house, ugh just couldn't get into it. And I fell asleep during "National Treasure", also at my cousin's house. xD

Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy?

I couldn't think of the first word to answer her! I knew it was guide to the galaxy just couldn't think of the first word. Anyways you answered so no need for me to think anymore!

OMG!
i love national treasure one and two.
lol, just had to say that.

A.I Artificial Intelligence, I went with some friends to see it when it came out, and we thought it was boring so we walked out.

twilight was aful.
almost left but i would have felt rude cause i was at my friends house and she had just bought it.

I loved journey to the center of the earth!

Oh, I just had to switch off Twilight that I was watching on the internet.
I nearly walked out in the theatre too.
It's kinda awful.
