Just wondering....Have you ever had them??? I have, and by the time I was through, I got my mom and my lil brother too, LoL!!

OMG yes! And I was in 8th grade. I got them much worse than kids do when they're little. I missed 2 weeks of school and had alot of catching up to do. It was embarassing to have CP at age 13.

Try having them as an adult!!! All 3 of my kids got them and then lo and behold I found out I had not had them and neither did my ex! We both spent 5 days in bed and my 8 year old fed and took care of the littler ones because it was spring break and every single person I knew was out of town.

It is 100x worse to get them as an adult..I can testify!!!!

Got them in 6th grade and it was horrid! So sick, yuck. A strange though, when I was pg with my youngest DD, now 6, the dr. gave me an oh by the way-you ahve no immunity to the chicken pox so stay away! Never got them again and never gave it another thought until now, lol.

I caught them in the 2nd grade. I remember half the class got chicken pox at the same time.

My sister got them when she was 34 and I was around her during the incubation period and did not catch them.

I remember how sick my three boys were when they got them and I really felt for my mother.
There were six kids in our family. The first one got the measles, then each one of us got the measles, one at a time.
Then it was chicken pox, one at a time.
Then I got whooping cough.
My mother was stuck in the house for the entire summer with sick kids. Peggie

Oh, I had them alright, when I was 22yo!!!!!
I got them from DD who had them for her 1st B-day!! We had to postpone her party. It was horrible. My Dr. had perscribed Valtrex, the Herpies medication to supress them. How embarassed was I when picking up that perscription!!
It did work and made it easier to deal with. But, it was still pretty bad, they were everywhere!!!

I got them during the summer between second and third grades. My brother got them and missed the last two weeks of school, and I got them about a week after his cleared up. Between the heat of the summer and the chicken pox, I was a poor excuse for a 7 year old.

Yup, I had 'em. Came down with them at WDW when I was 17! Can you believe it??? I was miserable the whole 2 wks. we were in FL! WE stayed an extra day as I was feeling well enough to go to Epcot(it was new at the time) with my cousin....I still had spots and got some weird looks. I really didn't care!!!

I got them from my brother when I was 13. It was so bad you couldn't see me just the chicken pox. I wasn't itchy but it affected my spine making my legs usless. I was bedridden for a couple of weeks and delirious most of the time. And I didn't eat or drink anything except juice and water for about a week. I couldn't move or walk or talk. My parents thought that I actually might die.

I got them at age 27 with my twins.....................not fun at all!

Just a little speculative aside -

I have multiple sclerosis, and there's been some theories that chicken pox could have something to do with developing MS later in life. I don't know how much I buy into it, but I did have an extra awful case of CP - not just the itchy rash, but I was really sick besides.

DD had CP at age 2, and it was very mild. I remember being very glad it wasn't anything like I had.

I am 22, have NEVER had Chicken Pox and have been exposed to them.

I had them twice. Once as a toddler and the second time when I was 13.

No, never had chicken pox, although when I was seven I had the mumps, my sister and brother both had the chicken pox. So Mom had all 3 of us home at the same time, got better went back to school and the first day back sister got sent home with the mumps. Both of my kids had the chicken pox, daughter sooooo bad, they wanted to put her in hospital and again, I did not get them......hope I never do.

I was exposed to the chicken pox as a kid and never got them either. Thought I was immune to them. Well, I went the the Natural History Museum lots kids there, and 2 weeks later I got the chicken pox. I was 30. So just beware, it can still happen. I never got poison Ivey as a kid either, and I was exposed to it. I got it for the first time in my 30's also. Your immune system ain't as good as you get older.
