Someone mentioned their Bible being stolen from them in church, and it made me think of the time I left my purse on the rack above my coat upstairs in our church, while we were at the pot-luck dinner downstairs. After I got home I realized $10 had been stolen out of my purse. I never thought someone would steal from another person in church of all places!! I assumed it was one particular boy, but of course could do nothing about it so I pretty much forgot about it. A few months later, on a school field trip with my son, one of the mothers brought it up. She had just found out about it and said she was going to make her daughter write a note of apology to me. It was a girl I never, ever thought would have done something like that!! :earseek:

So, I was just wondering if any of you have ever had money stolen from you?

Also, when I got married we all left our purses downstairs in the changing room (it was a chapel on the college campus) and once we left for our honeymoon I realized someone had stolen the $65 I had in my purse, which I had earmarked for souvenirs of the places we were going. :(

Once, but it was only $14 or so. But I had a lot more stuff stolen at the time. Someone broke into the truck I was driving and stole my purse. I had a 35 mm camera, recently developed pics, my cc's, my check book, my dl, mine and my dd's ss card, and 2 pics of me and my grandparents that I carried around with me everywhere. None of it was returned.:(

Once, this past Dec at work somebody stole my purse. I cannot even figure out why. I only had around $2.50 or so in cash, no ccs, no checkbook, nothing. The only thing in there they could possibly want was the book I was reading (Taggerung, by Brian Jacques),my DL or insurance card (the only things in my wallet). It was an ugly purse I used exclusively for work that I'd had since HS and the wallet was a cheap leather one imprinted with smiley faces that somebody once gave me. Not what you'd call really high quality, need-to-have merchandise here folks.

I was pick-pocketed in Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris during Mass! I had a heck of a time reporting the theft and cancelling my credit cards. BTW, my wallet was eventally returned to me about 3 months later. They only took the money.

I've had money stolen from me before. I do not worry too much about it (I'm not rich by no means), but if someone wants to steal from me or my family. I say good for them, may be they needed it more than we did. But their stealing will come back on them 10 fold so let them have it.

i had a ring check stolen it to pay for my class ring. and some lunch money

I was in a serious car accident in 2001. I almost died. I was hit from behind and then pushed into an intersection and hit again on the side.

Would you believe that someone took my wallet and credit cards out of my car before police and paramedics came?

We were on the way to my parents home. They were doing construction. We stopped and got some lunch for everyone. Those scumbags even had the nerve to take the food in the trunk. They didn't take the case of Pepsi though. It had squirted everywhere and was mostly crushed.

Why would someone steal chicken from the car of an accident victim? My first grader at the time was in the car with me and I was unconscious, yet no one saw anyone steal my wallet or food. Hmmm.

PS: They eventually caught the guy who stole my wallet. I guess he bragged about it.

Someone stole my kitchen sink off of my front porch. We were remodeling and we were going to throw it away when we were finished. The only thing I wanted from it was the garbage disposal.

I've always said that I hope the sink leaks for them.:upsidedow

We've also had our Jeep Grand Cherokee stolen. The thieves wanted the stuff inside and to wreck it. They tried to run it into the front of someone's house. Luckily, they got caught up in the bushes before hurting the house.

I had my purse stolen at a Catholic singles dance of all places.

It was an old purse - in fact I'd picked it up out of a goodwill pile that night. All I had in it was a few dollars - no credit cards - but I did have my car key in it. My house key was locked in my trunk.

I found a nice man to drive me home. I was sure that I had an extra key on my patio. I did not - I ended up crawling through the dog door to get in!!

I had a backpack stolen from under my seat on a ferry in Australia - I had my billfold in my pocket. I got the backpack and purse that was inside back about a year later.
