Again, please quote where I said I expected or demanded it. No offense if you were one of the seat patrons who chose to stay sitting. I don't hold any ill will personally against you.

You posted it as a rude incident. So it seems you did expect someone to give up their seat for you, why else would you call them rude for not doing so?

I see both sides. Yes, I was taught to give up my seat to someone who needs it more (and I do). However, I was also taught that expecting other people to take of my needs, when I could have done something myself is also rude.
I see what you mean and have the same philosophy. I try to extend as much courtesy as possible to other people, but I never expect anyone to go out of their way to do something nice for me. I have been in that situation many times. Someone always offered me and my child a seat, but I never expected it, I am always very grateful and even a little bit surprised. People who offer you a seat don't have to do it, they do it out of their goodness.

Yup, there's a big difference between being disappointed that no one has the decency to at least offer a seat to a person who is standing with a sleeping toddler on a moving bus (safety hazard), and expecting others to always take your needs into account.

It is absolutely impossible that every person on that bus had a condition that meant they needed a seat. Every person on that bus probably spent 10+ hours standing and walking in the parks, and feel they cannot be bothered to stand on what will be a 10-15 minute bus ride so someone with a small child can sit. Obviously they are perfectly right to do so, but as we all know just because you are allowed to do something doesn't always necessarily mean you should. Offering the seat was the appropriate move.

Sometimes I wonder if people with what I would call questionable bus etiquette grew up in a city without public transit. Living in a city with millions of people and riding the jam packed bus up until I got a car after school, it horrifies me to see how some people act on busses at Disney. At least I get a chuckle at those who say they wait for another bus because the bus is "full" because there are no seats.

I was probably considered the rude one during our last trip. We were in Frontierland watching the parade and some woman was in front of us who had her camera stretched as far over her head as she could get it and kept standing on her tip toes. She was in the front row so I still can't figure out what she was doing. Anyway, she was completely blocking my daughters view and any pictures we tried to take so I walked up to ask her if she'd mind lowering the camera a little bit. When I came up beside her and said "excuse me" the poor woman about had a heart attack, she jump a good foot and looked at me like I was some serial killer who was on the loose then beat feet out of there as fast as she could go. My first instinct was to laugh but then I just felt sorry for the poor woman as she obviously had some anxiety issues.

I don't know if you would consider this rude but I still laugh when I think about it. I was waiting in line for Space Mountain watching a man and his wife be real asses to their little boy. The boy was maybe 5 and was hysterical about riding. Instead of trying to sooth him the parents were calling him names and threatening to spank him if he didn't stop being a "cry baby". The boy finally starts quieting down and went to stand behind the dad. Suddenly he gets this look of deep concentration on his face then starts picking his nose and wiping it on the back of his dads pants. The kid had been crying pretty hard so you can imagine the mess he was able to make on the back of his dads pants. Apparently I wasn't the only one watching all of this because several of us busted out laughing at the same time. The little boy stopped long enough to look around at the laughter then got a evil little grin on his face and went back to wiping boogers on his dad. I still think it's too bad that he wasn't standing closer to his mom too.
