Have You Ever Had a Facial?

Several day spas around my town offer facials and I've thought about getting one done. Have you gotten a facial done? If so, what was your experience like?

The salon I want to try offers facials with set time/prices.
They offer facials in:
25 minutes
50 minutes
80 minutes


I'm not sure why different time frames are given. Are certain services left out of the 25 minute facial that might be in the 50 minute facial, (or even the 80 minute facial)? Thanks for any help on this!

Facials are wonderful. I've only had hour long facials. Of course it includes cleansing, toning, and moisturizing, but it also should be customized for your skin type. Blemishes are "dealt with", and rough or dry patches are smoothed over. The best part , of course is the message. They don't just clean your face. Scalpe, facial, neck, shoulder, and often the upper pectoral area is messaged. Heaven. But, I wouldn't recommend having one the day before a big event, as, though you may glow with radiance directly afterward, you may have a mild breakout or patchy spots a day or two afterward. No reason to not get one, though. If done regularly, it does improve your skin.

as for the differences you mentioned, I guess I would just call the salon and ask them.

I have them all the time....I usually go in for a 55 minute and a 55 minute massage so I get almost 2 hours of relaxing time for myself! I recently saw the spa I go to hasa 3 hour special which includes some other things I may try next time.

I get them all the time, they are wonderful.

There are different types of facials. I having a hydrating facial done next week. The winter cold, wind and the heat in the house drys out the skin, so before I leave on my vacation I'm having the facial done.

Over a year ago I started getting glycolic treatments and using glycolic products. The difference is remarkable, glycolic removes the dry layers of skin from your face, my skin tones are more even and years of wrinkles from not using sunscreen daily have disappeared.

There are new products out on the market that can correct the damage that been done to your skin, also product that can cleanse and shrink pores.

The key to keeping a youthful face is sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen and drinking lots of water.

I try to get one every month too for all the reasons stated above.

The thing I like is that I get health benefits in terms of better skin, but they are also very relaxing. I feel like I am really indulging myself. Go for it!

Never a facial but I did have a wonderful massage while at WDW last year! It was shear heaven!

Also you are not supposed to use soap to wash your face....a quick rinse with just water is all you should be doing to your face...all the face washes and soaps dry out your skin and clog it all up on your face.

Well, I've set an appointment for this Friday afternoon for a facial and a traditional swedish massage. Two hours of relaxation, can't wait!!

Many people told me not to have a facial done so close to a major event, which is why I waited. (My wedding was 4 weeks ago.) Now I can relax and treat myself!

You're really going to enjoy yourself! The whole experience is very relaxing. However, I must warn you, if they decide to do pore extractions, it probably will hurt a little. What this is, is they use a tiny scapel looking thing to literally squeeze the junk out of your pores! I've done this at home since, and I've gotten used to it!

my best facial included oxygen mist wafting onto my face while he massaged my feet /shoulders/neck.....the oxygen made my skin wonderfull !worst one broke me out for a week.
