Have you ever had a conversation with someone famous?

Yes. I work in sound for TV and Film and I've had normal conversations with a lot of famous people over the past 12 years.

I forget them, though. I won't even remember, unless someone says something then I'll go, oh yes!

Like Barry Manilow. He was coming to the studio as he had a cameo in a film and he had to re-do his lines. We were under construction in our lobby at the time, so one of us always had to be available to walk actors to the service elevator so they were not by the sand-blasting and painting areas. I can't even remember what we talked about. He seemed very nice.

Benjamin Bratt is the nicest guy.
Kathy Najimy is sweet.

I had a long conversation with Ben Affleck about another famous star, at the time she was going through some serious issues and I just had to know how someone rich and famous can have so many hangers-on that they can't see the destructive path they are on. He agreed with me and said they are usually surrounded by yes-people and they get conditioned to the point where crazy seems normal. It was a fascinating conversation.

Brad Pitt just puts off this star aura. I honestly believe that man doesn't have a care in the world. Must be nice to be him!

Hector Elizondo was really great.

I'm sure there are so many more. Oh, Tom Hanks IS the nice guy you think he is.

Also, I am amazed at the cars these people drive. Very conservative and green these days.

Oh yeah, I forgot! I agree about Hector Elizondo. And Larry Miller was very nice as well.

Not me but my brother...Tom Cruise (before he was TOM CRUISE) filmed a movie in my home town in which my brother was an extra. He spent time with Cruise, even gave him a tour of the area. I was away at college at the time and never got to meet him.

I can't believe it EITHER!! wAAAAAAAHHHH!!

Actually the company had a booth at a broadcast trade show. Marlon was one of the owners of the station I worked for and he is the COOLEST guy, not a ounce of diva in him. One of the other owners was Evander Holyfield, another amazing MAN. Robert Townsend was our programming director, a diva to those who worked for him but always very kind and nice to me.

Marlon told the booth that he wanted them to "meet his brother". He has a LOT of brothers but no one expected him to drag over MICHAEL!!! My co workers were SHOCKED!!! :scared1: They said he was VERY shy, very quiet and aDORable. Marlon is the exact opposite, he is extremely animated and friendly. There was no doubt that he adored and loved his little brother, though. And he was more than proud of him.

My heart breaks for him now. :sad1:

awww he sounds so nice! and sweet of him to take MJ in to meet everybody!

My MIL and FIL actually met Catherine Bell (Army Wives and JAG) in a little sandwich shop this past Sunday. My MIL chatted her up and said she was very sweet. She was with her mom and her daughter. My MIL said she is taller than MIL thought, but has a TINY waist.

Could "Tinkledinpants" be Jimmy Buffet :lmao:? If so, my 7 yr old ds is your biggest fan;) He told us over Christmas that he wants to "be" Jimmy Buffet when he grows up ....smart kid!!

There is also a former famous actress who left Hollywood in her heyday and opened a restaurnt in Key West....cant remember her name.....

I used to work in radio and met a LOT of them. Most left no impression, the following did:

Earl Woods (yes, Tiger's daddy. He was amazingly nice and friendly)

The Temptations (we sang with them and they invited us out to their concert)

Lionel Richie (nicest guy EVER!)

Elton John (he and his boyfriend are both my height!! I'm 4'11" tall! :scared1: ) They were so cute about it!

Prince: He IS my height! His bandmate was my girlfriend's bf. I couldn't believe we looked eye to eye. At the time he was dating a woman who was a foot taller than he was and so was my bf. Cute!

Sean Hannity: He was my co worker for several years and YES, he is the sweetest guy EVER. Yes, I said it!! :lmao:

and last but not least my former boss, Marlon Jackson. What a sweet GENUINE person. I'm trying to forgive him for bringing Michael up to the station when I was NOT there!!! :sad1:

Wow, I would love to meet Lionel Ritchie!!!

I didn't realize Elton John is so short! (please don't take offense to that-I'm only 2 inches taller than you!!:cutie:). Does he usually wear high heeled shoes to make him appear taller?

Was that the actress that was in Top Gun with Tom Cruise?

Kelly McGillis. She was also in "Witness" with Harrison Ford. And yes she does have a restaurant (named "Kelly's") in Key West.

Yes, I have. I was in a movie with Tom Cruise and Leah Thompson (Caroline in the City) My maiden name was Zabala and if you do a search you will find me in "All The Right Moves" 1983 and I have credits too. Valerie Zabala(maiden name) Craig T. Nelson was also in it and he was the guy who played the main character on "Coach" I think it was called. This movie was made right before Risky Business for Tom Cruise. It was made in my hometown with all of my Senior Year Classmates. :) Great Experience.

Thank you. I could see her face, hear her speak but the only "Kelly" name that I could come up with was Preston and I knew that wasn't right.

My BIL did. He was doing a research project for Alec Baldwin-years ago . He was buying property on a coastal island off NorthCarolina and wanted research on the water and coastal contamination-BIL was the local Coastal Research scientist at the University. My sister said it was so weird to open the email and see one from him!;)

They filmed all the episodes of Dawson's Creek in their city-Wilmington NC has a Movie studio-and neeeded a whole greenhouse of orchids for one episode. BIL is the president of the local orchid Association-so he chatted with the Now Mrs Tom Cruise!

I did some extra work on Dawsons Creek in Wilmington. Michelle Williams hung out with "us Extras" a lot. When we would have a break she would hang out with us and eat pizza and smoke cigs, while the rest of the cast had the "nicer meals". Joshua Jackson talked with us a lot. Katie Holmes didn't have much to say to anyone,(walked around the security a lot) and James Vanderbeek NEVER had anything to do with us. He was always leaning back in his chair with his feet kicked up talking on his cell!:sad2:

Kenny Chesney!!!

I went to a small concert of his in the beginning of his career. (when "Thats Why I'm here" came out). After the concert I thought he was still inside signing autographs so I went outside where his bus was. I was jumping up to try to see inside his bus and he opened the door and stuck his head out and said, "hello". It startled me at first. He invited me on his bus. He had already changed clothes. He was wearing a t shirt, boxers, a ball cap and was barefoot. I was flipping out. He was very sweet. We talked about things he had done earlier that day(in myrtle beach) and talked about lots of other stuff! He signed my ticket for me. He had given me a guitar pick earlier during the concert. I had already taken all my pics in my camera(one with film in it)! I had no pics left but I do have an autograph and memories!

Definately a highlight in my life!!!

My Granny is a Grammy Award winning Gospel singer, so I have spent time with countless celebs. My most notable encounter happened when I spent the summer with her on the set of the movie "Leap of Faith".

My Granny was cast as one of the singers in the movie and I was out of school for the summer so I tagged along. The movie starred Steve Martin, Debra Winger, Lolita Davidovich, Meatloaf, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Liam Neeson and Luke Haas. It was super exciting for me as I have been a huge Steve Martin fan since I was a small child.

Steve was extremely nice and invited me to eat lunch with him a few times. Lolita Davidovich was awesome, she really liked my Granny so she spent a lot of time in our trailer, Phllip Seymour Hoffman was ok, but really quiet, I played cards with him. Liam Neeson was gorgeous and sooo tall he was pretty quiet too. We had a few conversations, he was very interested in talking about my education and college plans. I was a little bit nervous to meet Meatloaf, but he turned out to be the nicest one of them all and so normal :goodvibes .

The highlight of the summer was when my Granny sang "Blessed Assurance" while shooting a scene and Steve was moved to tears. They had to take a break because everyone on set was bawling. The next day Steve sent her a huge bouquet of flowers with a card that said "You are truly the greatest Gospel singer alive". She still has that card.

Is that the one that was filmed in Eureka Springs?
