Have you ever gone to a TS restaurant just for dessert?

Hi guys.. I would really like to go to Brown Derby just for the grapefruit cake and some drinks. Has anyone ever gone to a TS restaurant just to have dessert? Did you make an ADR for it if you did? Thanks so much!

Yes, several years ago we did CG so we could see the fireworks and have a fancy dessert. We explained what we wanted to do when we made the reservations and there was no problem - this was in October and the night of a MNSSHP.It was before they got so particular about who was allowed on the top floor. Of course we did not get a window table but just went out on the balcony to see the fireworks - regretfully they did not have the great halloween music to go with the special fireworks. If they would have just turned off their elevator music we could have heard it live from the park.

We've had drinks and appetizers at Sci-Fi and dessert at Cinderellas castle in 2004. Also, this year I have ADR's for Sci-Fi and Coral Reef at 2 and 2:30 just for dessert. We didn't want to eat lunch there, but wanted to go for the atmosphere and thought it would be a nice break from the heat. I just remembered that we had an ADR for the restaurant in Mexico for marguaritas and appetizers. I think it's better to get an ADR, so that you are not turned away if they are busy. Have fun!

I believe you can pick up some grapefruit cake from the Starring Rolls Bakery. I have read that in the past. If it's true, it sure would save you some tip money.

We have gone to the Kona Cafe for just dessert. It was at 9:00pm so we didn't need an ADR They have really good desserts too

I haven't, but maybe I'm supposed to. No one has ever given me a hard time about it, and I make sure that I always leave at least a 20% tip (or more).

I recently inquired about making an ADR for Prime Time for dessert only. The CM told me it would block off the table for the length of a full course meal.
They can't make shorter ressies. As this is such a popular place, we opted to take our chances without an ADR so others can eat. We thought we'd go around 3:00. What do you think our chances are?

We have done this sometimes. We always go during off-peak times, and have told the CMs in advance that we're only getting coffee and dessert. We have never had a problem, and we always make sure to tip generously.

I have gone into rose and crown for just dessert. We went around 8:30, ate, and then watched Illuminations. It was a lot of fun! We walked right in.

We had dinner at CG once and were too stuffed to order dessert. We then hopped on the monorail and went to the GF. We walked around the grounds and admired the lobby, then went to Narcoossee's. We did not have an ADR, but just asked if we could have dessert and coffee. We had no problems getting seated (it was probably around 9:00). It turned out to be perfect timing as the Electric Water Pageant was going by just as we were eating.

Thanks SO much for your replies..I think we will do this as a walk-up..as I don't want to lessen anyone's chances of getting a full-meal ADR because I have a "dessert" only one. I just didn't want to feel odd walking into a restaurant and ordering dessert only. Again, thank you!
