Have you ever given a gift to a CM?

I have been reading here and other places about guests giving CM's little gifts or treats as a gesture of appreciation. The distribution is to CM's who take care of your room or to CM"s in the park who brighten your day or to a freindly waiter/waitress. This little gift is not a tip but something a little personal as well as the tip (in those situations where you do leave a tip).

For example, I read where a couple had little bottles of maple Syrup that they gave to CM's they met during the day to whom they wanted to express a bit of gratitude. It is sort of a Magical Moments FROM Guests TO CM's!:wizard:

I really like this idea.:thumbsup2
Has anyone ever done something like this and what have you given? I would like to do that, but I don't know waht to give:confused3

I read on one of the threads not too long ago of a family that made up cards that expressed appreciation for the magical memories that the CM's gave them and handed them out throughout their trip. The poster noted that she actually made a CM cry because it was such an wonderful unexpected gesture.

I think doing something for the CM's is a great idea. When you think of all the people they deal with every day - both good and bad - something like this would be magical to them!! :goodvibes

We gave a animal cookie bouqet to the AKV Concierge who handled all of our grand gathering reservations back in 2005.

Some cm's are not allowed to take gifts. DD has been offered tips on many occasions but in her position, she is not allowed to take them. She graciously declines.

Of course, but that's because we have many CM friends that we send gifts to or take to dinner. As for CMs we don't know personally, we've given them our MNSSHP candy. My husband was a CM for years for the catalog and when a guest came in and was pleased with his service they would fill out a guest comment card. Once he received a certain amount of positive comments he was awarded a pin. I've written letters to Disney about above and beyond service I've received too. When I do surveys, I generally remember names of folks who made my stay special. So it's always good to jot down a CMs name if you are truly impressed so that you can include it in your online survey after staying at the resorts.

We send photos of them w/our kid(s) to CMs that made a moment really magical. We also give World of Coca Cola pins sometimes to international CMs - since lots of CMs collect pins it's a little something from Atlanta to add to their collection.

One of my Arkansas friends made little thank you cards and attached an Arkansas "diamond". I hand out little packs of "pig poop" from Saratoga Sweets with my thank you cards.

Ok-dare I ask-
What is an Arkansas "diamond"

What is "pig poop" from Saratoga? Does it have anything in common w/ Arkansas diamond?

Last year when we checked into SSR on Christmas Eve we brought a beautiful box of hand-made chocolates for the CMs at the front desk to share. We thought it must stink to work on holidays, and it was our way of saying Thank You for working on Christmas Eve.
