Have you ever felt nauseous/sick/been ill after going on a Disney ride?

I can't even watch the Teacups spinning around, I feel so sick and dizzy...I've only ridden them once, when the kids were younger, and felt ill the rest of the day. Things that spin around in circles like that, always make me feel terrible.

On the other hand, Mission Space was a blast (pun intended)! Roller coasters, even those that loop, don't bother me, nor do drops like Splash Mountain.

Hubby, however, gets queasy on all roller coasters, even the mild ones, and once on Mission Space was enough for him - he felt sick the rest of the day.

Nothing, absolutely nothing, bothers our kids.

I guess it just depends on the person and the (maybe) state of their inner ears and balance!

I have no intention of doing Mission Space. I would be sick for the rest of the day and would probably end up with a massive headache. My daughter went on it during her last trip to the world and warned me against going on it. I too cannot even watch the Tea Cups along with the Merry-Go-Round. I have to take motion sickness med to do Star Tours, which is the only virtual reality ride I have been able to handle. Give me any roller coaster or fast ride and I am fine. I just can't handle spinning around or virtual reality.

:wave2:

My DH has problems with virtual rides such as Body Wars or Star Tours. He's fine if he's actually moving but the simulation stuff doesn't go over too well!

For the first time ever I felt queasy after "riding" a ride. Don't laugh but after I got out of the France film at EPCOT, which I loved I felt queasy. A few days later I rode that and Ellen's universe of energy again and the same thing. Gasp, I think I am getting old! BTW I love Teacups and can spin to my hearts content.

I take one bonine and wear sea-bands every day that we go to the parks and it is still not enough for me. I get SOOOO motion sick! Also, I don't like roller coasters or anything with a big drop...but I sure do love WDW! No Space or Splash mountains for me, no Star Tours or Body Wars, etc. BTMRR leaves me queasy, even with the meds. Tried Goofy's Barnstormer once and was sick all afternoon. I did finally ride Dumbo, Aladdin, and Triceratops Spin...I was OK, but these are indredibly short rides. Also, as a former dancer I know how to "spot", which helps keeps dizziness reduced. Can't handle the rides (Maelstrom is the biggest "drop" I'm comfortable with, HATE splash mountain) but LOVE WDW!!!

DH made the comment yesterday that he could no longer ride Mission Space. We were on it on Tuesday and I thought it was better than last year. He didn't feel well the rest of the day.

Mission Space is the only ride that makes me feel sick and I've been on A LOT of rides  !

I usually only get that sensation while in the Enchanted Tiki Room:tongue: :jester:

Ever design your own rollercoaster at DD then ride it? Yuck! I felt gross for the rest of the evening. Needless to say, I'm not going anywhere near Mission Space. And as another poster mentioned, I can't even look at the teacups when they are spinning.

Yes. Mission Space did it for me. I'll never go on that ride again. Luckily hubby agrees. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

My DH feels sick with any spinning and was able to ride Mission Space 3 times without any problem. He'd taken ginger capsules the morning and followed the instructions closely. He insisted that there wasn't spinning!

Unfortunately... it was Tower of Terror that did me in! Not sure how I missed the motion sickness warnings for that one (are there any?) I did not even attempt Mission Space; ditto for Star Tours.

In MK I handled the three mountains with no problem. Never got a chance to try Rock 'n Roller Coaster as it was out of commission the day we were there. I would have tried that before TOT -- now I'm wondering if I'll be able to handle it in the future. Maybe I'll try Bonine.

Funny... when I was younger I could ride anything. Post-kids it's been a different story. :confused3 Any other moms out there notice this change?

 :( :( I went on Mission Space with my DH and DD in August of this year. I got very sick, had to go to the first aid station for an hour. Then went back to WL for the rest of the day. Never again.

This may be wimpy, but I felt sick after most of the virtual reality games at Disney quest. I also can't stomach (literally) the tea cups. We're going back on November 20th. Whether I risk Mission Space is still up in the air.

Mission Space did me in for the rest of the day..on the one and only time I rode it. Felt like the world was spinning afterwards and never felt right till the next day..I rode it once, never again!!!

First time I rode on Big Thunder Mt was the last. I felt miserable all day. First time I rode Space Mt I still had a patch on from the Disney Cruise, plus some dramamine in my system. Thought for sure I would be all right. Was I ever wrong. Last time for Space Mt.

I don't care much for Tower of Terror or Test Track. Sometimes even Splash will get me a little queasy. I've never done RnRC, Mission Space, Goofy's Barnstormer, Star Tours, Body Wars, Mad Tea Party and probably never will.

I love Pirates of the Caribbean at DQ. But I can't do the Jungle Cruise at DQ or the Aladdin's Flying Carpet there. Never mind the virtual roller coaster or the Buzz Lightyear ball game. But I can do Mighty Ducks Pinball - that's fun.

I wouldn't call it sick per se, but on our recent trip, I got disoriented on Mission: Space. My screen was blurry almost like it was a streaked window cleaned with cheap glass cleaner. It made me dizzy and I had to watch my wifes screen for a bit... that's the closest I have ever come though. I felt fine after we got off the ride...
