This will be our lst time doing this actually. Its another last minute trip for next week, leaving tuesday and it worked out that the adrs I was able to get are all for lunches, some a little late, like 2 pm. But we usually only eat 1 big meal a day anyway so with the 2 teen ds I guess they can have a snack or cs later if they are hungry.
We got:
Prime Time Cafe
Garden Grill, late lunch for lst CP show
Crystal Palace
Liberty Tree Inn
Rainforest Cafe
Whispering Canyon Cafe

I guess also since we are not on the dining plan it will save a little money since the lunches are a little less expensive than the dinners.
Just wondering what your experience was if you did this? DId you keep getting hungry later on each day etc. Just thinking of the food budget etc.

We actually prefer doing this and, for us, it works out perfectly. We always get to the parks at opening so by lunchtime we are ready to sit and rest for a while. I usually make ADRs for around 1:00 or 2:00. One large TS meal a day is all we want and lunch holds us until we are ready for something lighter at dinner. CS works well for that since we are usually not that hungry after a big lunch.

I prefer doing this as well- the only days I usually don't try it is if I scheduled a breakfast buffet or something like that for the kids. My kids are better suited to sit longer for lunch than they are dinner- so I love doing this. We either eat an early TS lunch and grab a CS dinner or we eat a late TS lunch and then snack depending on where we are. I don't know if it makes any difference that we head back early- around 8 or so... but it works well for us.

Let me know how it goes.

We're bringing our whole family in January and we've planned large group touring for the mornings. So, we booked ourselves a bunch of lunches in order to help us remember to break off for the afternoon.

We think it sounds good. But, I'm actually worried that I'll end up spending more on food than I want. So, I'm reminding myself that I can always cancel ADRs if we decide we only want to eat TS every other day.

We do this a lot especially when paying OOP. I like to schedule the late lunches as the parks are usually hot and crowded, makes a nice break, and the lunch menu is usually cheaper than dinner. Also always seems like we are inside for the afternoon rain :), Like the previous poster, if we do a breakfast buffet, usually just do a CS later in the day!

We usually did our big TS meal at lunch and it worked out great. It saved money on our food budget, plus it was a nice break just when everyone was getting a little tired. A snack later in the day was all we needed.

We like to have big lunches and a light dinner too! Remember, many of the cs meals are large enough to share. As dinner time approaches, 2 cs meals may be plenty for all of you to share.

Enjoy your last minute trip during this wonderful time of the year! :goodvibes

When I have my DH with me this is the only way he will dine. He doesn't like counter service so we do table service at lunch and dinner, with breakfast usually in our room. Its nice to sit down and be waited on after all the time on your feet in the parks.

When not on DDP we do most of our TS as lunches. We like to schedule them near the last lunch seating of the day. That way we start our day early in the park. Kids and grandparents get a "real" lunch wherever they want (they're happy); DH & I usually eat a snack from our bag and then we enjoy our late lunch around 3/4. So our meal is cheaper (we're happy). If we schedule it for a real lunchtime (12 noon or so) we just have a snack or some yummy dessert later in the day! Works out great!

We usually do table service lunches too. None of my group really likes to eat big meals in the morning and we don't want to miss any of the parades or fireworks in the evening. We try for late lunches (around 2pm) so we miss a lot of the lunchtime crowds and are out of the heat in the middle of the day. Then we just grab counter service later in the evening. It works out great for us.

Most TS resturants are much quieter at lunch time than at dinner time, which is why I also prefer doing TS then. Although I sometimes do TS at dinner, it's usually only because that resturant isn't open at lunch time. Coral Reef, on the other hand, is a resturant I much prefer at lunchtime than at dinner time.
