my first memory of raising chickens was dad bringing home chicks and putting them in house under heat lamp... and then the smell!!!.. so yes from age 6-17..., the sound of a hen is only second to the soothing sound of the Pacific ocean

No snow here. Dad grew up in IL so maybe he did. I have gone caroling though and it was fun.

not from a shelter....all our pets came from grocery stores where people were outside giving them away or someone we knew.
