Have you ever been totally off on who someone was on the DIS?

For instance, I thought HMG (Haunted Mansion Geek) was my age. I just read that she has had her house for 30 years which would lead me to believe she is not my age as I'm not even 30 years old...yet!

There have been a few others that I have been totally wrong on too. I'm a bright one I is.

Actually, there are alot of DISers that I don't know much about. I suspect I would be surprised by who they really are. I think when you DIS, it doesn't matter if you're 18 or 80 - you can be as young as you want around here.

I do the same thing you do MosMom....I even flirted with someone here (a LONG time ago) who ended up being a woman!

the teenagers are the ones that get me. I never expected them to want to hang out with us old folks. Not to mention that they are very smart and add wonderful insight on various discussions.

I never assume anything about anybody, you just can't tell with just user names. Also it is very hard to tell sometimes if they are female/male.

I'll bet most people think I'm the human female in the pics in my signature. The female part would be correct, but maybe not the other part....

I can attest to the fact that HMG quite rarely acts her age. She is quite the hoot.

Over the years I've been really wrong about some people on the DIS.

My general behavior is more like that of a 12 year old, right Beauty? (not only that, but a 12 year old BOY, what with the gross sense of humor I have!)


What makes it hard at the DIS too is the fact that some people leave and return as someone else. Always a surprise to find that you've been visiting with an "old friend".......sometimes more of a shock than anything! LOL

Since I have my picture in my signature and my birthdate in my profile it's pretty obvious that I am really old.

In real life I have best friends that are 20 years older and 20 years younger.

I used to moderate a roller coaster forum with the same screen name, and when I posted a picture all of the guys were in shock. They thought I was some gothic chick (not that theres anything wrong with that) when in reality I'm a bubbly blonde haired girl who adores wearing pink.

WhenUwishUponAstar, I've been hanging around here for a couple of years and age never crossed my mind once. Hopefully it never bothered anyone else.

I'm not though! DH is 15 years OLDER than I am - I just always had a "thing" for "older men".. Man - did that ever backfire on me!!
