Have you ever been offered an extra discounted night?

Ok so i stayed at the Disneyland hotel for two nights a few months ago. it was the first time i had ever stayed at a Disneyland hotel. Upon the morning of our checkout we received an offer for one more night for only $142 which was more than half of what we paid per night. Sadly we couldn't accept because of our pesky jobs.

I was wondering if anyone here has ever been offered that type of deal before? We are planning on staying at the Paradise Pier hotel this time around for 2 nights and were hoping they might offer us something like that again. We are flying this time and need to know for sure if we will be staying that extra night or not.

If it's something they do a lot then i won't book the last night which i know is very risky but if it was probably a one time thing then i guess ill book the night.

Thanks for any responses!!

I think I have had that offer once years ago...but in dozens of stays on property I can say it it pretty rare.

I've received it many times but like you, was unable to take advantage due to a flight home :upsidedow.

Then one visit, I knew I would be able to stay another night if it was offered, and...it wasn't. Dang! So I decided to mention I'd received the offer in the past and ask if they would do it for me this time. They did! It was awesome, too, as we were staying GCH concierge.

So my advice is to go ahead and ask. If they aren't too full, they may well go for it. If the hotel is booked (obviously) it won't happen.

I've never been offered that, but have many times been upgraded to a better room, even got the two bedroom "family of the day" suite once at no additional cost.

My friend and I were there last Thanksgiving weekend and we were shocked when we were getting ready to leave that Saturday morning and found a note slipped under the door offfering us an extra night at $125! Thanksgiving weekend!? My friend read the note to me, said "we have a decision to make" and I said I'M UNPACKING! It was the best surprise ever! I've stayed at the DL hotel LOTS in my life and that was the only time it's ever happened.

Wow what's the family of the day suite? Sounds like a huge amount of pixie dust!!

We've been offered the discount stay at DLH. Will be headed there again in a few weeks, so I'll update if we get it again.

Got if offered once during our first visit to DLH. Haven't been offered it since. I think the first time was a quieter time, plus it was soon after the completion of their renovation. It seems that they've been busy every time we've gone since.

I can't understand what you are trying to do -
Are you going to book PPH for one night only and hope you get an offer to stay cheap the second night, and you will book your flight now to leave the 3rd day?
Or will you book 2 nights hoping for cheap 3rd night and you will...change your flight at that point or book your flight for the 4th day and hope you have a room?

Either way, you can
A. Get the cheap extra night offer you're hoping for. :cool1:
B. Not get the offer and beg for it; alternatively, accept the going rate to add on a day assuming there is availability.
C. Move to a cheaper hotel for that last night.
D. Change your flight and leave before the bonus night.

Yours is as good a plan as any; you have tons of ways to recover that extra night (or go home early) if you don't get the offer, several of which will cost you less than another night at PPH and certainly less than adding on another day of Disney food, tickets, etc.

FWIW, we have received the offer at DLH at least 4 times and we've stayed there 5 or 6 times (summer season and "off" :rotfl2: season Oct and Feb). We have never been able to take advantage of the offer. We have stayed at GCH 2 times and did not receive the offer either trip.

We've had that offer every time we've stayed on property (DLH x2, GC X4), but have never been able to take advantage of it. I would say if your last day is NOT a Friday or Saturday, your chances are pretty good at getting an offer.

We got the offer when we went for Christmas 2011 at PPH but for our other two onsite stays.

The "family of the day" was really neat. We got a certificate upon checking that said we were the family of the day, had pictures with goofy & balloons before we went up to the room, & then the room was a big 2 room suite. One of the rooms was totally mickeyed out, the kids over it!

Just got back from staying at the DLH. We were a huge family, so we stayed in 4 rooms. On the check-out day, Saturday, we were offered another night stay for $129.00. It's a good thing we were too, because we had to use two of the rooms, our flight was cancelled and we needed somewhere to stay until the morning flight. Thanks DLH!

We've had that offer several times at PPH(never received it at GCH or DLH), but it has been a while---last Spring. We sure would love to see it again!!!:thumbsup2

Wondering if it has to do with what day you check out. We usually leave after a Friday night stay. I doubt that they'd offer a Saturday night for half price. Plus, I wouldn't want to hit the parks on a Saturday anyhow.
