Have you ever been INJURED on a ride?

Nearly forgot, my friend's daughter got hurt in Epcot. She was about 6 at the time. Waiting for Illuminations to begin, she was "twirling" round and round, happy as can be.

Her foot got wedged/stuck in a little crevice/crack somehow. Well, her body kept twirling, and her foot did not…….. = spiral fracture in her leg. They cut the trip short and came home to NJ after an ER visit, they wanted doctors here to see it ASAP.

I had a pretty bad headache after spending 2 hours at the Adventurers club:)

My teenage cousin and I are both very petite and we found that after sitting on the right side of the car on BTMRR we each had a problem with our right hip. Almost as if it was out of place. We only realized it was that ride when we switched seats and then she immediately had the exact same issue!

Years ago I chaperoned a music department trip to DL. While exiting the Matterhorn, my foot got wedged in a crevice in the body of the sled. I turned to get out, but my foot didn't. Road home on the bus in severe pain, but it was just severely sprained. That was when I learned crutches are not for me! Also, workman's comp is no fun!

Twice I hurt my back & ribs on Space Mtn. Nothing serious, just sore. I'm done with that ride.

I scraped my knees and legs pretty badly when a wave at the Typhoon Lagoon wave pool knocked me over. I also got injured on a Disney bus. The bus stopped suddenly due to the light changing and I hit my head on the metal pole (the one that people normally hold on to). I had a huge egg on my forehead for the rest of the trip.

I also lost a tooth on Main Street right as the parade was coming when I was younger. I was bleeding pretty badly, so my parents had to hold a towel over my mouth until the parade passed and we were able to treat it.

My 10 yr old daughter chipped her left foot at animal kingdom lodge in the gift shop two weeks ago. She turned around and her foot got caught on display end cap and she fell. She was totally embarrassed and we really thought it was just bruised or sprained since she was still walking on it. Got her a wheelchair for the last couple of days of the trip and she loved having flashbacks to using a stroller. (Took a couple of naps while riding around) it started really bothering her on the ride home so we went to urgent care and low and behold, the X-ray showed a severe chip so off to the Ortho we went the next morning. She is in a foot boot until the 20th when we go back to have it x-rayed again. If not healed then she will have to have a screw put in her foot. Not how he wanted to spend her 10th birthday at Disney but she does love telling everyone she broke it at her fav place doing her fav thing, shopping.

Not on a ride, but I did get hurt on the Disney Fantasy last year. To be fair, it was kind of my own fault. I was geared up to see Chip and Dale with my boyfriend, and I guess I was a little too excited, because when Chip came in to hug me, I rammed my head off of his cheek! I guess he had a few tough nuts stored in his mouth because man, did it ever hurt ;) In the picture that was taken I think I look so funny because I was in shock it hurt so bad! But no harm done, and I still laugh at that picture whenever I see it.

OH I thought of another one. Many a time has DH gotten blisters on his feet from walking in un-broken-in shoes.... on the first or 2nd day of the trip. :headache:

Well, I bruised my arm this past weekend on ToT, was sitting in the far left row and didn't hold on to the hand rail piece. When we dropped, I was bounced into the metal. Also caught my toe last month under the seat in front of me on Star Tours. My 14 year old got stepped on at Rose and Crown on Saturday, but that's not a ride.

Our worst injuries at Disney so far, we were walking from the DTD parking lot, and the front of my shoe caught the lip of the sidewalk and down I went face first, chipped a tooth, trashed my sunglasses and the cell phone in my hand, and bloodied my nose; I think I probably had a mild concussion, but was NOT going to the dr! 2 days later my daughter was sitting on the rail at the monorail station at TTC, and fell forward, hitting her knees on the pavement and her face on my knee.

we have never really been injured on a ride but my daughter hit her head on the safety bar when they jerked to a stop. Another time they lowered the bar too soon on FPP and her leg was stuck in the air.. she was on my lap.

My husband broke open those glow sticks and got the goo in his eyes. He went to the first aid station to get them flushed out. My daughter broke out in hives after eating dinner at the Garden Grill. We spoke to the chef but could not determine that she ate anything she was allergic to. We went to first aid and they gave her something just in case. We think she may be allergic to sunscreen as this has happened three trips.

My husband got a back spasm after pushing 70 lbs of kids in a double stroller up the ramp to the monorail. He spent a few hours in the ER... on the same trip my FIL had a kidney stone and went to the ER.

Those glow sticks could have been even worse in the eyes! They typically have a thin glass container inside, which is what you smash into bits when you activate them. Imagine if that got in someone's eyes!

Both chemicals would be horrible to get in your eyes too (one is hydrogen peroxide, the other cyalume, which is basically an ester oil).

:grouphug: for your 10 year old! Wishing her a speedy recovery.

Space Mountain. I can't ride in the first seat (the pointy one) because I get thrown around during the ride and bang my legs and knees pretty bad. I don't get any bruises or anything but I suffer in pain through the whole ride.

The only time I've gotten really hurt was on the aquaduck on the Disney Dream. I don't know how it happened but after riding it I ended up with bruises on my sides and I really did a number on my fingers. I was in pain for a few days after. I'm guessing it happened during one of the dips or maybe when I was getting out of the raft and I flipped over to my side.

I always manage to slam my head from side to side on RnRC, which makes my ears red and bothersome for a few hours. A few years ago we went to TL. I woke up the next morning with pink eye. We were traveling home that day, so when we got home, I went to urgent care for a prescription. The doctor actually asked me if I had been in a public pool or water park recently, and attributed my pink eye to that. He said it's pretty common and evidently, it's a breeding ground. No way to know for sure of course ;)

Possible, assuming the virus causing it can survive chlorine. But really it could be from anywhere. Someone has it, wipes their eye, touches a railing. You come by five minutes later, touch the railing, touch your eye. I got it while working at a restaurant as a dishwasher. Assumed someone had it, wiped their eye on a napkin, I bussed the table and tossed their trash, getting it on my hands, then I must have touched my eye.

I have a huge snake phobia and the post about getting bitten by a water moccasin at CBR makes me want to never go near that resort!

Snakes don't know what resort they are in. Florida can have such snakes anywhere. DH and DS once watched resort employees at universal get a snake out of the pool area at one of the deluxe resorts. It was awesome how fast they got to it once it came from the bushes.

Ugh sunscreen. Ds and I had reactions to target's brand of pseudo coppertone. Put it on before going to castaway cay, and about 20 minutes later our skin had a burning feeling. Not sunburn, but like a chemical burn. Especially bad on our faces. Had to wash it off with soap and then go buy drastically expensive sunscreen at the island store. NOT fun. You have my empathy!

In 2002, I was at Disney World. We were getting ready to climb into one of the sails of Peter Pan's flight. I bumped my left leg near my knee on the sail and ended up with a painful bruise.

One time while on Splash Mountain, I was scratching my face near the "small" drop half-way into the ride. When the log got to the bottom, it jerked us around a little, and I ended up punching myself in the nose. I had a nose bleed for a good 3 minutes. I had a good laugh at myself.

In 2011 DD fell getting off one of the carousel horses. She was scraped up pretty bad, bleeding and developed a huge bruise on her abdomen. The folks at first aid were very nice. They cleaned the wound, dressed it and gave us some pain medication in case she needed it. She's refused to ride the carousel ever since.

On our first night at DL I was gleefully climbing off the tram, having listened to them say "please make sure you duck as you leave the tram, please make sure you have all your items, please remember there is a step out from the bottom of the tram" and all those wonderful things. Apparently I was deliriously happy or something because I neither remembered the step nor remembered to duck. I went WHACK into the roof of the tram and splat onto the asphalt.

The tram CM calmly got on the mic and said "And that is a perfect example of how not to disembark, ladies and gentlemen."

I laughed and waved from the ground, got up, bowed, and got applause from most of the tram for a spectacular performance. I got a good headache off that thing though. The thud was audible all the way down the tram when I hit the roof.
