Have you ever been conned out of your money?

I have. A site sold me three watches and they delivered one only - and it was a third party one, rubbish. Then they went dark. Their eMails bounced. The shop disappeared. Their trustpilot stuff was faked. They said they were in the UK but the shipment details for the one rogue watch came from inland China. Had to go to the bank to get my money back. Best lesson - if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. But I was a mug.

Oh, and I once bought a couple of watches for £40 each - only realised after that they were a make that charged £18 each from AliExpress! Canny seller changed the brand name and I fell for it hook line and sinker.

[ETA] Oh, and someone nicked my identity and tried to funnel all the money in my current account out into theirs. The bank stopped them and gave me a new card, etc
