Have you ever been carded while dining?

Last November we had a reservation at T-Rex and I actually got carded for I.D.!

I was 35 at the time, with my DH who was 40, our two kids (6 and 8) and MIL.

Part of me was upset because I couldn't drink, but the other part of me was very happy... they actually thought I was underage! :lmao:

Trust me, I do not look underage! :rotfl2:

Has this ever happened to anyone else while at Disney?

Sadly, no :sad1:. I'm 44 now, so I think my days of being carded are over!

I did get carded once at the grocery store when I was 35! Made my day! And I'm still telling the story 9 years later, apparently. :rotfl2:

I got carded at a fruit market buying wine a few months ago. I was like, "are you kidding me? I am old enough to be your mother plus" lol. I gave the cashier my license and she instantly became my best friend, or she was giving me a line of BS when she said, "wow, you don't look that old." hahahahahaha I am 57. I am also guessing it is their policy to card everyone.

Happened to me with my brother who was in town visiting as well not too long ago. We went to a local bar/restaurant and we both got carded before we could even enter. He is 48. A little bit absurd.

In the grocery stores here there are signs that say if you look under 40 you will be carded and they can refuse to sell to you. Many places have these policies. Even if you think it is a silly policy you have to realize establishments have to protect themselves. Many people look older than they are so it is easier for a bar or restaurant to card everyone than to take a chance of serving a 20 y/o that looks 25-30.

Yes, I get carded almost everytime I order a drink at disney. When I was 23, i didn't have my ID on me, and they would not let me drink. I looked like I was 12 at 23, and now that I am 28, I look 14, so I am not shocked when I get ID'ed. Wasn't a big deal at the time, I knew I had forgotten my ID, but I thought it didn't hurt to try.

I don't really think I look like I am under 21, but I look under 30, so 9 times out of 10, I do get carded. I did feel kinda sad when I went out to eat with my friend, she got carded, and I didn't. It may have been the 4 year old sitting next to me though :)

Many, many years ago on my honeymoon, we went to the luau at the Poly with 2 other honeymoon couples we met on the Big Red Boat prior to our WDW stay. We were all in our mid to late 20's. Waitress gets drink orders - then proceeds to card everyone at the table but me. I tried to give her my ID but she declined and said, "it's okay - you look old."

Yep, almost every time! If I didn't, I'd probably cry!

Haha me too! I'm old enough to be flattered when asked for ID. When I was in my early 20's and so eager to be seen as a "serious" adult, being ID'ed irked me. Now that I'm in my 30's, I take a liking to any server or casino staffer who ID's me :)

I usually get carded in WDW. I have always gotten carded in EPCOT, even at the little kiosks that sell alcohol. Now I always remember to bring my ID with my KTTW!

I get carded every time I either buy it at a store or order at a bar.....I'm 32 but always get told I look 20. Which I guess in the US doesn't make me legal:rotfl2: Although in my country...I still am....

I got married and started a family later in life and got the opposite to being carded at WDW a few times. While waiting in line and talking to people they asked me how old my grandson was. I replied “well first he’s my son” to which they usually replied “oh is this your second marriage/”

yep I was carded at the Yatchman in May when I went to celebrate my 9th wedding anniversary with dh... lucky me I didn't have any ID. LOL

Occasionally. And I am 46. I suggest always carrying your ID.

In December 2010 at the ESPN Club I was asked to show my photo ID after ordering a Beer.

But aren't you only about 22? It isn't, at all, strange that you'd be carded.

We went on a boat cruise in under grad as a departmental thing and the rule on the boat was that everyone is carded. It was amazing how many professors didn't bring any sort of ID with them. So, most of the students could drink (drinking age is 18), but many of the professors (decades older than the students) could not.

I always get carded at Disney, so I always have my ID with me. I'm 31, and I believe I look about 25-27, but there must be something young about my face (which I'm not complaining about) :goodvibes

I always get carded and I totally understand why they do it. They have to cover THEIR behinds.

And you should always have a form of ID on you. I'm shocked at the number of people who post they didn't have any! :confused3

I've never got carded at Disney, and I am in my 30s and look early 20s, sometimes people think I'm even younger, but for some reason I guess I look older at Disney :confused3
