I've been twice, both times under canvas tents. I have no desire to go again.

A week in Wales, it rained most of the time. :umbrella:

A long weekend with the Girl Guides, somewhere in England, I only remember it being a field with cow pats and we got there in the back of a lorry!

We used to go all the time as kids. It was rather primitive, too. Bathing in the river, etc. I loved it as a kid. As an adult it is a lot of work.

We used to tent camp alot, but as we got older we have cut back. It's too much work! Probably renting a cabin at FW is the way to go.

I've been a few times. Camp in a tent, sleep on the ground. I liked it alright until the last time I ended up getting West Nile Virus from all the mosquito bites. My DH told me that there were no mosquitos near the ocean. And for some reason I beleived him. I had so many bites it looked like measels.

I consider camping when a hotel does not have room service.

I love to go camping. I took my son this past October...just me and him...it was a bit creepy at night with the wolves howling, but we had fun and good food in our dutch oven!

I love camping. I just upgraded to a truck camper, but I'm sure we'll still use the tent and screen house when we go. It is a little tedious when it rains, for sure, but even that has its charm...the pattering raindrops on canvas while you sleep, the smell of the clean, wet air.

Windy rainstorms just stink, though.

Been camping all my life. Started in a tent, then tent trailer and then to 30 something foot long home. A few years ago we got a Coleman tent trailer, it was the biggest they make. Had the slideout dinning table too. Just stopped last year, sold the trailer to one of my daycare kids family.

Now would rather go to hotels.

We love to camp. We don't do enough of it. We bought a RV a couple years back and have only used it twice. We had a pop-up tent trailer that we took cross country in 2000. From Seattle to Saco Maine, via Cincinatti Ohio, pulling a pop-up with a 6 year old and a 18 mo, both girls. We ended up going thought 26 States, and 2 Provinces in 26 days.

Both DW & I were in scouts as kids and now we are leaders for DD7's GS troop. It doesn't hurt that I have worked at REI for over 20 years.

Growing up I went camping with my family all the time. Although we upgraded over the years....tent, pop up camper and then finally a motor home.

I haven't been in a long time though!

I love to camp! Growing up it was the highlight of our summer. A week in Yosemite or a week by the ocean, either one was nice, but I prefered Yosemite. As money was tight camping was our vacation, and it was always memorable. As we got older we were allowed to bring friends. Haven't been in a cuple of years due to having kids and work, but I miss it.

I don't mind camping in an rv w/ steaks to eat and a tv to watch:rotfl2: does that count? Roughing it...no thanks

Nope, not our thing at all (though ds does camp in a tent for his karate boot camp every summer and he loves it). We love the outdoors and hiking etc but at the end of the day I want a nice hotel with a comfy bed and a bar to belly up to!!!...............I won't even stay in a hotel room with a kitchenette....on vacation I am not cooking anything more then a pot of coffee!

We camped all the time to save money.

Started with a 2 man tent at OCMD even during a small hurricane once.

Then DD was born and we moved up to a 2 room with screened in area. When she started running into the walls we went the Pop-up route for several years. Went most weekends during the summer. We sold that last year and now DVC is our camping.

We go camping every year with a TENT. Wouldn´t consider it camping otherwise.

We are campers. Started with a pop-up back in 1998 and moved up to a 32 ft Travel Trailer with a large slide-out (the living room and dining area). It has bunks but the kids seem to be getting to big for them really.

Most of our friends camp also. We usually have a group of 12 or more sites and we go about 7 times a season.

The closest I've ever come to camping was sleeping in a tent in my friends backyard in 7th grade. I have always wanted to try the real thing but there's no one in my life who's willing to go with me :confused3 Maybe someday I'll get to camp.

I have been many many times...

As a kid we'd do primitive camping with style... it was definitely primitive- no toilets or any sort of bathroom- but my dad was great at creating a nice and comfortable place for his daughters lol

Then dh and I and kids do historical re-inactment and camp for that- now that is semi-primitive- all our things/clothing/tent is pre-1840's but we do hide ice chests (sorry I'm a 21st century type girl) and usually have access to real bathrooms in historical parks.

I'm also a Girl Scout leader and camp at least 2 times a year with them- sometimes more often...
