Have you ever been asked...concerning WDW transportation

I thought I'd better clarify that, because I could see the imaginations running wild, just to find a question so boring. I was wondering if any of you have ever been asked to show a Resort I.D., or a park hopper to ride the WDW transportation. We have stayed on property numerous times, but have never been asked even once. Since we are Florida residents, we usually stay away from the parks on the busiest times of year. I was thinking that maybe when people talk about you needing the I.D. or park hopper, they were there at one of the busier times. Has anyone ever been asked to show an I.D. at busier times, or any time for that matter? Just curious. Thanks in advance for the info.

Hi,

Up until the last couple of years we were almost always asked to show our Resort ID when boarding (esp from Downtown Disney), but the last 2 times we were never asked at all, though I keep it on hand until I am on the bus to be safe.

in my 6 or 7 trips in the last 7 years......of which I stayed on site every time.....I have NEVER EVER been asked to show resort ID.
I have wondered about that

Hi,

I checked with my adult Godson, with whom I travelled every year until 1998, and that was the last time we remembered everyone having out a resort ID to show the driver. We are pretty sure this was on buses from Downtown Disney - back when it was Disney Marketplace and before that Disney Village (which is still my favorite name!). We have always stayed on site since our first visit in 1982 and then we only took monorails, except to Disney Village and Fort Wilderness.

Maybe it was August '81 - EPCOT open in October and we went back in March, but no one wanted to visit EPCOT! It did not feel "Disney" enough - no characters at EPCOT then! We went back in summer and made our first visit to EPCOT. Anyone remember when children were given free "Passports" and they would have them stamped at every country? I hear they have to pay for those now :( This is not the place to go into it, but things were very different in the early '80's...Character Meals included Mickey balloons, pins and other goodies...sigh..sweet memories!

At any rate, I'd have my Resort ID with me, but I don't think they ask for it any longer.
Sorry for the trip down memory lane, but this question seemed to bring it all back!!

We were asked twice for our resort ID's before boarding the monorail, but that may have been due to the EMH (EE) those days.

This past trip (August) we were asked to show a resort ID at the turnstiles for the EMH at all the parks. They were denying entry to quite a few people.

Oh, right ~ forgot about EMH. Yes, we were asked for the ID's then.

Thanks for the reminder ~ I knew there was some time when they still ask for resort ID's!!

We hadn't been asked in years ...

until this last trip. We were staying at the Poly (July) and walked from there to the TTC to get the monorail to Epcot. You know the area where the ticket booths are...well right past that area its gated but you normally just walk through there. Anyway there was a CM there asking to see resort IDs or park tickets that day.

I have been asked to see resort ID when trying to board the resort monorail at Magic Kingdom closing.

I have also been asked to show a ticket or resort ID when entering the TTC first thing in the morning.

Also asked to see resort ID when going to EMH.

I often wonder about this myself because we have never been asked to see resort ID when boarding transportation. I just figured that Disney trusted people.
