They taste like acorns.
Which I also tried as a kid.
Yuck to both!

YES, we did go to Georgetown! It is a small world after all! The Christmas Market there is going on this weekend as well. We had a wonderful breakfast in a quaint little restaurant called the Happy Cooker. They had the absolute BEST hot spiced cider I've ever had. We stayed the night and it was COLD. When I say cold, I mean the high that day was 5 degrees and that was at midnight. It was great! We love to go there and really get into the Christmas spirit.figment52 said:Did you go to Georgetown? When I lived in Denver I went to Georgetown every December to get in the Christmas spirit - I just love the old Victorian atmosphere.
But to answer your question NEVER tried the chestnuts. We had a chestnut tree inthe neighborhood as a kid I can just couldn't bring myself to think of those little things as a food source.
