Have you eloped and had a disney wedding??

Thanks everyone for you support we have made the decision that we are taking the plunge and eloping hoping for sometime in November next year....:cool1:

I have let most of my family and some of them may come so you never know we might have some people there....
:confused3

I got engaged inside the castle on June 7, 2010. My fiancé and I know that we both want to get married at Disney. For the last couple of weeks we have been torn between an escape wedding at the wedding pavilion with 18 guests or a wedding with just the 2 of us at Sunset Pointe. Today we decided on the wedding with just the two of us. I guess you can’t say that we are eloping because we announced it to our family members and they are completely ok with it. It just seems like a better idea financially. We will be able to go have the wedding of our dreams and have a nice honeymoon. Then come back home and have a small dinner with both of our families.

Well now I have some questions and I hope you guys can help me. How much does a wedding for just 2 people cost? Is it exactly the same as an escape wedding? Does anyone know the rules of how it would work?

When we looked at going through DFTW for just the two of us, the cheapest option that we could find was $4700. So yes it is the same cost as the escape.

We eloped. It was awesome. No one to worry about. Spent all the wedding money on ourselves rather than extended family we rarely talk to. Sure, it sounds cold; but it was our day. We had an absolute blast and wouldn't change a thing (except splurge on a bigger photo package - we'll do the castle for our 10th anniversary). Whatever you do, do it for you and your DF.

We are also eloping. We told our parents and siblings about the wedding but no one else even knows we are engaged. We will be the only ones at our wedding on Oct 12th at Sunset Point and we are sooooo excited.

We were both married before so I think it is a little more "acceptable" that we are eloping but we both agree that the day should be about us, our love and the life we are starting together! And - thanks to you - I have decided to get more pics (I was on the fence about upgrading the package).

I say go for it! We eloped at WDW this past October.

We knew we would be married while at WDW, but my family (parents, brother, sil, niece, nephew and our own kids) who was also vacationing at WDW had no idea.

My boyfriend surprised me with a beautiful engagement ring during lunch at The Hollywood Brown Derby on the 12th. We celebrated with our family that night at Le Cellier and were married at the top of the grand staircase at the Grand Floridian after a wonderful dinner there on the 13th. I had thought we might walk back and be married on the Poly beach that night, but during dinner it started pouring so we just improvised and did it right there. :goodvibes

My ceremony cost a total of zero extra dollars as my officiant and photographer were both family members so we didn't draw any more attention than any other party of 12 on vacation.

That trip to WDW was our first trip with my now DH, our engagement, our wedding and our familymoon all in one! I am now 5 months pregnant with 5th (I had 3 kids when I met my now DH, this is our 2nd together) child, so obviously the magic followed us home!
