I know I should drive, but there's no way! I'm too much of a coward and my 3 DSs are right to be too afraid! We're staying at Hawthorn suites, Canada Ave, partly because they offer complimentary shuttles to Universal and WDW. Has anyone coped with using shuttles from I-drive area? Any information about getting about without that car would be great.
Thanks

From what I'm reading, driving in Florida isn't all that bad.

'GO ON TAKE A CHANCE!' We are!?!

GOOD LUCK !!!

driving in the states is a doddle. we went in sept 2001 and stayed for three weeks without a car and it was great but went back last may 2003 and hqad a car for 2 weeks and it was a totally different experience. FREEDOM. plus driving is so much more of a pleasure, no road rage no roundabouts no silly prices for fuel.

We used the hotel shuttle bus when we first went to Florida in 1997. The trip out to WDW wasn't too bad, but the return was a different matter. The bus was extremely crowded, especially the last bus back.

Shuttle buses drop off and pick up at the Transportation and Ticket Centre near MK (some pick up from Epcot as well). So once the bus drops you off you have to catch WDW transportation to the park you wish to visit.

Also, at the parks and the TTC the area the shuttle buses pick you up from is an open car park - no cover and no seats.

Well. I have been twice before, staying in villas at Indian ridge. I was navigator then and it didn't look easy at all to me! Maybe it's just me, but it would spoil all those months of planning worrying about the driving, especially on my own with 3DSs in the car.
I guess I'll have to take my chances with the shuttles and hope they're not too bad.

I firmly beleive that navigating is a much harder job in the US than over here as the road signs are so close to the turnings. However DH (who has driven but never been navigator) thinks that driving is easy.
